  1. Burnley 78,

I just don’t rate this guy & the trends are worrying

He has loads of charisma, but his game management is poor & he has now been handed his a*** on a plate by world beating managers like Nielsen, Martindale, McAllister & the guy from Midjtyland.

If I saw signs of improvement ,learning from mistakes, or we were losing to Pep / Pochettino I would be less concerned, but sadly it looks like Mowbray & Barnes all over again

  2. JPH,

Change the 3rd and4th letters of “Waster” and it probably describes you.Away and walk about banging your drum

Don’t be raptured by results. How many goals have we scored in Europe and domestically. Motherwell got a draw, they have been on a good run and are coming to the big six party. Maybe The Dundee derby will be a good game. You say we can’t win away but they can’t win at home. Hibs drew as well. It’s gonna be a nip and tuck league. Hopefully it will be competitive and exciting. Viva Scottish football.

All we are saying is give Ange ( a decent ) chance. How many yesrs was Fergie at Man U before they won anything.

not buying that , only interested in what we do.

Three way defeats. Diet huns is a tricky first game.

Huns on their own ground. Fair enough.

    Today. Unacceptable.

When was the last time Celtic manager lost their first three league games?

Ange knew all the shit about the plastic pitch and could not put a multi million pounds team against a bunch of bakers and butchers.

“No excuses” said the manager before the game.

    So what are the reasons?

  5. Burnley78 – always good to see you posting a bit if calm headed stuff. McCarthy calmed us down a bit on Thursday night but he was, as they say, blowing oot his erchie by the time livvy scored today. Its a shame but its where he is fitness wise.

For the sake of my blood pressure, I’m away to do non celtic related stuff and not read any more hysterics on CQN.

  6. No excuses for that effort today.

Too many light weights in the team/squad who don’t have the required desire to roll their sleeves up and show signs of determination to win the game. Livvie had determined players all over the park. That was the difference today.

When you’re bringing on Johnston, Soro and Bitton to overcome a one goal deficit you know you’re in big trouble.

Desperately looking for a silver lining to our current cloud? Remind yourself that this season was always going to be a work in progress. We’ve had a huge turnaround in players. It will take them time to gel (we should be aiming to build a TEAM rather than rely on individuals to win games – this will take time). Hard to stomach today’s performance, but let’s hope Ange learns from it. If he selects a similar team & tactics on our next visit to Livvie, I’ll be seriously concerned.

  7. Unless Ange brings in coaches this week then we can forget about the league. We’ll be dropping more points at Pittodrie in two weeks.

  8. Before I go, RC – there’s something about your posts that has the hint if football journalist/ pundit about them. Just saying.

It would be foolish in the extreme not to believe that some media/ print outlets have a presence on football chatrooms right across the game.

For the avoidance of doubt, those comments are related.

Have a pleasant and safe week comrades.

“Ange you should have been advised how today would be played out …they clowns aiding you are useless”

Maybe the backroom team *are* advising him

  10. onenightinlisbon on

Poor show, as ever at Livvy. The state of the team and the bench was a sign of how difficult it was going to be.

However, these guys hae lost at home to Motherwell and Aberdeen – what does that say about us?

  11. The fabulous impact that Kyogo has made hid a multitude of issues. The wee man gets injured and we revert back to last season’s model.

Even this early in the season, it looks like the league could be won with a relatively small-ish number of points. That could work in our favour if we can get a run of wins together. If .

Can we win ugly please Ange, there is no shame.

  12. Dexter P. Bampot on

Haven’t won away in SEVEN MONTHS.

This unacceptable statistic has now included both managers’ spells. The players need to take a f**king look at themselves. Turnbull, Ajeti, Rogic et al do not have the excuse of being new players.

This was Livingston. Our reserves should be beat them.

Ajeti is an absolute joke. The shirt doesn’t fit and all that.

Ange doesn’t seem to be able to adapt during a game. I’ve said it before that this is what sets the good managers apart from the great. O’Neill had the same failing but of course had the quality players to compensate. Ditto Strachan and Lennon. Once they set out their stall, that was it v except for some like for like subs.

But, look, at the end of they day, DO NOT WORRY about it. Why should you? Ajeti doesn’t and he’s on about £30k a week. The PLC don’t and they still make their dough.

  13. CALL_OF_JUAREZ on 19TH SEPTEMBER 2021 5:47 PM

James McCarthy on a 3yr deal not looking like the best of investments.

    ——-

    Even worse.

    It’s four.

  14. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

I fear we may yet again have a unbalanced team with too many show ponies unable to roll up their sleeves when the going gets tough.

I had hoped McCarthy would bring a bit of grit to proceedings, but he was the worst player on the pitch today. Is he meant to be Scott Brown’s replacement?

  15. DEXTER P. BAMPOT on 19TH SEPTEMBER 2021 5:51 PM

    Your conclusion is spot on.

The Great Desmondo will be currently striding up the 18th fairway somewhere in Barbados not giving a …. tuppeny fig about anything but what kinda gin to have in his Lunchtime G&T 🍋

  16. jota was m.o.m on right wing on Thursday so why change him to the left side , Abada offers nothing on right wing he won’t go by the full back, his best games have been attacking and following the ball into the box , should have started with MJ on the left.

  17. Just back in from the game.

That really was very poor . The high intensity just wasn’t there.

Pass marks to Hart, CCV , Bolingoli and Turnbull.

We need to get a settled team and start performing away from home.

As for Bitton. I hope never to see that guy in a Celtic shirt again

  18. A difficult day for the whole team…………

Not just the playing surface – Lino should be banned and the nuggets who sanction its use re-assigned.

I don’t know enough to make a call on the tactics, but anything new takes time and results suffer when good performers aren’t there or when those that are don’t grab the opportunity.

If we’re not good enough to win a game then we’re not good enough………………

    Will we be?

    Yes, I think so…………..

In the meantime we’ll suffer the odd defeat and the Bhlog will see some sleekits return………..

  19. And you said Neil Lennon was fat?

The writing was on the wall for Ange Postegoglu and Celtic, when news filtered from the other side of the world that the already semi sunken drunken? Celtic board had picked a plum who said ‘ he didn’t do defending ‘ . That wasn’t an afterthought, laughed off by the faithful, that was his whole football philosphy which made Tony ( pumped again ) Mowbray sound like Maximus Decimus Meridius, before he was ripped a new one in every arena. Two failed world cups and umpteen J Leagues, throw in the odd fight with an inquisitive Australian journalesi, and bob’s your live in lover, voila here’s the Celtic gig.

Seized on by supporters that who fear our season came and went with Kyogo’s seven in seven, the disappearance of season eleven could have come and gone before the main stand is fully open Covid free. Who buys these guys is a question too often asked, as if to rub salt in the wounds a la last year Bolingoli gets selected pasta his macaroni sell by date, that should have ended all sell by dates. James McCarthy topping up his pension in Scotland on a bizarre four year deal, beggars belief on first sightings. David Turnbull is as weak as a kitten, and looks as if a decent cullen skink could finish him.

Ominous for Celts from the start, with a bench that went, John Kennedy, Stephen McManus Gavin Strachan, and Tony Macaroni. Celtic opened on the excuse of a pitch playing tiki tacky to get into another daft web site as Europes top passers, where assists and stats mean nothing other than, good for geeks. The truth is now with a horrendous run of away fixtures faced, Celtic are still sh8te, and your mate’s golf club’s are out, and his medals await.

Mikey Johnston now fit ‘again’ is behind his identikits in Abada and Jota, this was no Betis but the viewing was just as bad, bar the number of goals at both ends . CCV looks like a top class pub player, but luckily escape goats weren’t needed Starfelt was missing, and Celtic were just awful from start to finish.

Biton and Soro of the Du Du Dahan brigade, were ironically two better, if too late subs

Only signs of a rebuild may have been stopped when Dom McKay said goodbye, you’d need a manager first, no money back, no guarantee, no CEO, no panic buys just panic.

    M.O.M Ismaila Soro

  20. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

St Tams – re. Bitton, how many times have we said that? As I said earlier about throwing on Mikey Johnson with 20 minutes to go in an attempt to save the day, we know how this movie ends.

The manager seems to be making the same mistakes as his predecessor (I could also add the we’re nearing the end of September and still do not have a settled back 4, exactly the same as last season).

  21. If we’ve any chance of success this season then these two things need to happen.

1/ Buy players in January that are going to offer us something different especially for away games v the like of Livingstone.

We have so many players in the the team that have similar attributes and similar weaknesses.

We need midfielders signed that are strong and can win the battles.

We need to haver the ability to play 2 up front but not 2 lightweights.

Turnbull and Rogic should not play in the same midfield away from home .. it’s a recipe for a poor result.

We need to have the players available and signed where we can have a degree of flexibility in the style of football we play.

B/ Once he has the players signed he can then mix the style up and show he has the desire to play differently and mix it up.

Angeball doesn’t work with lightweights and 2 wingers away from home in Scotland especially in tight pitches with artificial surfaces.

  22. Where I was sitting today was directly accross from the dugouts.

I must say that I was not impressed with what I seen from Ange and the coaching stuff.

    Which was absolutely nothing.

    No encouragement, no tactical changes.

In my opinion, the honeymoon is over.

You’re right – the infantile intellect of some on here is staggering – they always blame those they don’t like for everything😂

  24. I do like a good stat. And even a bad one.

We have scored the most goals and conceded the least in the six league games so far.

We are 4 points off the top.

If it’s not our defence and not our attack, what’s the reason?

Possibly it goes to show that if we don’t score early then we struggle. If we do score early we score a load.

Need to learn how to scrape a win.

  25. We play, in the main, with our backs to the opposition goal. Pointless.

The ball was hardly in play during the second half due to time wasting and cheatery.

We were one dimensional and utterly predictable.

  26. Dreadful display from our bhoys and management team.

    Shocking in fact.

Ange you are in the spotlight son.

Dreadful starting line up and dreadful subs

Recall, McManus was drafted in from the youth set up to assist Kennedy when Lennon read, er, mutually consented.

    He’s still there.

  28. @ LUCKY CODY on 19TH SEPTEMBER 2021 5:03 PM

What changes do you think he could have made? Two of our changes today when losing the game involved bringing on Soro and Bitton, such is the dearth of squad depth.

Again, you have to look to our board – losing Brown, Ntcham and Christie and only brining in McCarthy makes us incredibly light in the engine room on the field. We are in September and we are already fully stretched. Wait until we get into December…
