No it can’t,but I know what the guy is saying.Just WTF is the point of bringing it up every time we have a bad result?.How does it have any bearing on the game yesterday?Res 12 gets plenty of discussion on here, and I am sure will be the main topic of conversation around AGM time, and again, quite rightly so.

It has a bearing on where we are as a club and what our custodians are allowing to happen therefore it has a bearing on everything we do moving forward, which we clearly are not.

  4. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 20TH SEPTEMBER 2021 9:51 AM

The way the board dealt with Res 12 challenges the assumption that the Board and the support want the same thing or have the same agenda.

    That’s why it’s relevant.

    ——

Why is it “rightly so” appropriate to raise R12 for AGM but not at any other time?

If you don’t accept this issue of corporate management has a relevance to the day to day management of the club then there’s little point discussing it further.

I would say it more than “challenges”.

I would say it blows it out the water.

Exactly what I was thinking last night. Agree with the first part of your post also, but a bit worrying all the same!

  8. Ange is new to the club, to the country and to Scottish football – he deserves a chance. One thing for sure is that he won’t get the three years that Gerrard got at Ibrox.

This is our worst start for 23 years apparently. Notwithstanding what I’ve said above – the next seven weeks will be pivotal. If we carry on in the current manner, there will be a clamour for Ange to go before Christmas.

I stick by my view that we will go through a lot more players and probably a couple of managers before we are back challenging once more. It is patently obvious that we are still in decline – that has to be stopped before we start moving forward again.

Will our away form put even second place in jeopardy? – we must wait and see. There are far better teams than Livingston lying in wait for us.

  9. JHB on 20TH SEPTEMBER 2021 10:06 AM

Second place will never be in jeopardy. Remember towards the end of last season when people thought Aberdeen might catch us?

Don’t underestimate how rotten the rest of the league is. Even a full-blown crisis will still see us make the top two.

    ———

    Yesterday was clearly unacceptable.

If AP is sacked before Christmas – which won’t happen – two points seem relevant

    1) Based on recent experience, he would not be replaced until at least July 2022, and

    2) what grounds would there be for supposing any replacement appointed by our current custodians would be any better from the perspective of the support?

  11. We played for 94 minutes yesterday with THREE so called FORWARDS…who between them conjured up ONLY ONE effort on target when Ajeti forced a good save from the Livvy goalie.

Ajeti ( IMHO) doesnt have a clue and is lazy…and TWO other forwards in Abada and Jota who struggle to beat their opponent and get to the goal line…….Jota in particular looks ” lightweight”…less so Abada…but both aint too clever at putting in decent crosses and/or cut backs.

I lost count of the number of times yesterday that Jota in particular when in possession just simply passed the ball BACK 10/15 Yards…too afraid to take any defender on. Hes fast becoming a ” Luxury”.

The only Players who got Pass Marks from me were Hart, Big Cammy, Boli, and on occasions Tam Rogic….who looked to be our ONLY Goal threat, and who tried to make things happen….as for the rest…Bloody hopeless !

    DISAPPOINTED.

    HH.

  12. On the game yesterday. So many have been on about Mc Carthy before yesterday’s game.We learned last week, that the boys training was badly interupted by Covid. He started OK,then fell away badly. We can all see he needs more time. Not on here.Just slaughter him.Soro, who was lambasted after the midweek game, came on yesterday, and put more urgency into out attacks than the fit Rogic and Turnbull, who were quite frankly, atrocious.Abada,Jota, absolutely inept. Now having a bad game is acceptable, but to forget the basics of wing play,to get balls into the box,is inexcusable, crossing, final ball, dire.

Ajeti will not score the amount of goals a striker should, because his movement is terrible.Only once yesterday, did he show any great enthusiasm.Welsh had a poor game, not like him.Not impressed with Juranovic either.Drifted in and out on the right side.No telling crosses, like you normally see from Hun full backs.Hart,Boli,CCV,were our only performers, and we wonder how we lost. The bench offered no real options to change anything.I said before,my only crib with Ange,is the lack of game time given to the boy Shaw,a big strong ball winner, with a bit of skill.Would have been a better option than a trying to get fit JMc C.

We are going through our injury ridden spell, still everything to play for.To blame Ange for his team having all the ball, and not being able to score is ridiculous. His job is to have them have all the ball.Succeeded.Their job is to make use of that.Failed.Could not cross, pass, shoot, when it mattered in the final 3rd.A team that took 3 off Betis !!!!!!!!!.Anges fault.

  13. Let’s be clear Celtic has a 50% win rate in competitive games and Rangers have a 50% win rate in competitive games.

Only one of these is seen by the media and its fans as a club in a crisis.

It’s the one which is rebuilding and has a new manager and a vastly changed squad. The kind of situation which, hampered by injuries, might just lead to some inconsistencies in performance.

We were all hugely frustrated yesterday.

We have played at rangers hearts Livingston away

Our rivals have played at Dingwall Tannadice and Perth. I know which away games I would have preferred ….

  14. Don’t have a problem with the Res12 campaign but I scroll by when it comes up as it is boring by necessity (legal, committees, who minuted what etc).

The elephant in the room back then is that Lennon was appointed as manager and blew the league in 2011. Res12 would never have happened if we had won the league.

I didn’t see much of the game yesterday so can’t comment on whether Ange is going the wrong way but his league start is bad in terms of results, no argument there

  15. Res 12 had nothing to do with the game yesterday.Nothing to do with Ange, the players, nothing to do with the way we played, nothing to do with the result. If any know or think differently, please inform me.

I never said it was not important,it is,and gets plenty of airtime on here, but what it has to do with a bad result at Livingston,is beyond my comprehension. Most feeling down with the result, sick as Pigs,in fact.Anyone thinking that all we need is a bit of Res 12 to “Ease the suffering” today is sadly out of kilter.

    Time and place.

  16. The BBC have helpfully poured over our stats this morning- Our worse league start in 23 years which isn’t surprising because I was struggling to think when we’d last lost 3 from the first 6.

What did surprise me was that was Livi’s second win in 19 games !

Genuinely jaw dropping incompetence from Celtic yesterday.

Maybe I’m having a moment here, but what do you mean?

Are you suggesting if we had won the 2010-11 league OldCo would not have gone bust?

They went bust despite our best efforts.

  18. When does Ange put on hold his purist philosophy to get a run together that wins matches. Maybe even ugly wins.

There is just such a mismatch between what we can try at home and the pragmatism needed at scotland’s away grounds.

Felt for Ajeti who was expected to compete for crosses against 2 beasts in the heart of their defence. McCarthy a playmaker replacement for Callum ? Since when did he ever play that role? Boli returns from the wilderness and the oldest development punt in history Scales sits it out. We want height and muscle but Ange doesn’t rate big lads Shaw and Uroghide in the side. Clearly. Neither Henderson or Robertson or Connell. etc etc…for progressive midfield options.

With the disfunction around the club, the mismatch between the purist theory of Ange and the reality of our situation is staring us in the face.

Could get ugly and pretty soon…

Both Neil Lennon and Eddie Howe are currently available (only joking but you gotta laugh)…

That would be the Celtic players, you mean.Had around 75% possession, done nothing with it.Not down to Ange to run on and score.Same tactics, near enough same players score 3 past Betis, with less of the ball, but play like dumplings against Livi. Not always the managers fault.Players accept this, why can’t fans.

  21. So match fit is the criteria.

We desperately needed at least 20 minutes from our signed but unused multi million ” new” striker, but he was deemed not match fit.

When was the last time Bolingoli played a competitive match ? but he was obvoously deemed match fit.

Just what is the point of signing players who are not ready to go into our team. Potentially we could be out of every competition before they are deemed ready.

    HH.

  22. And still we’ve guys on here giving possession stats !

    God give me strength.

    One more time then.

Teams allow us to have the ball because that’s their game plan, catch us high up the park and launch a quick counter against our poor defence.

  23. BIG JIMMY,

    Total agreement with your post.

I have no idea why for years, apart from Griff,we have had no one who can take a free kick, corner. So important in the game now.

  24. Greenpinta,

Difference being,Bolingoli WAS match fit,as we saw, maybe Gio wasn’t.Boli been training every day with the team.Gio no real pre season.

  25. Turkeyboy, I can assure you I don’t like losing against a side that previously won 1 in their last 18.

But listen, if we’re beat at Pittodrie then I won’t protest when you tell us all we had 70% possession.

  26. As much as I agree with most on here that McCarthy did have a poor game . I think we need to cut the guy a bit of slack , considering he had no preseason and also had covid.

One thing I did notice about him , was he organising and telling others where to go positionally and giving encouragement. The only player I seen doing this.

Our players are not vocal enough with each other.

It was like watching lennons side yesterday

    ——————-

Resolution 12 stated that Rangers should not have been given a licence to compete in the 2011/12 CL due to tax issues/UEFA rules and Celtic should have got the berth and the cash potential. They won the league in 2011 to qualify. If we won the league then no issue.

    Just like to confirm

Football supporters cant decide that sevco are the same club

Celtic cant decide that sevco are the same club

Uefa cant decide that sevco are the same club

What they can all do is pretend and accept the myth

HMRC and Company’s house are very clear that sevco was formed in 2012. The law of the land supersedes the law of football everytime.

Your team died is as true today as it ever was.

    …..

Celtic fc are currently rudderless and toothless despite the fact its investors could, if they decided, easilynafford to make celtic top dogs in scotland again. Just like the story’s austerity its a choice. Shame on the board and DD

  30. Turkeybhoy,

I disagree. Our big striker who was top scorer in Holland last season was really needed. How Unfit can you get in the close season ? A natural goal scorer should be able to give us 20 minutes whether match fit or not.

I would argue the once ostracised Bolingoli had even less time to be match fit. And was he really needed ?

    1) Lawwell punt

    2) DD punt from his other business interest Shamrock Rovers

    3) DD “sexy EPL” signing nobody else wanted which he thinks we should be grateful for – to be fair, has performed best of the four and a definite upgrade.

    4) DD “sexy EPL and Irish” signing nobody else wanted which he thinks we should be grateful for.

  32. In summary and very simplistic: For whatever reason, players who do not play for us are irrelevant over each 90 minutes.

Squad numbers mean nothing, if we don’t play them.

  33. For me the question today is – do we have the correct structure to give ourselves the best chance of regaining the league next season?

Hard luck stories and possession stats are fairly meaningless.
