I got odds of 6-1 on Celtic 3-0, that’s the only line I gazed at before handing slip back to the bookies. I think your explanation lessens the mystery of the £115 returns. Thank you.

I had the Huns v M’well Correct Score @ 7/1 in a DOUBLE with St Mirren to beat Hertz 1 – 0 also at 7/1 in Two Singles as well.
I also had Arsenal to beat Spurs 3 – 2, so that bet was Gubbed.
I had Sheff Utd to beat Newcastle 3- 2….it was 8 – 0 to Newcastle……Pure Mental !

I see the Daily Record has this morning put forward Keith Jackson to repudiate yesterday’s Hugh Keevins Sunday Mail article claiming Brendan Rodgers was not happy with the club’s backing during the transfer window.
Jackson doesn’t let Brendan off lightly though as he asserts that the lack of a split between himself and the board means he has gone soft.

Work beckons for me while the rest of the family enjoy a day off.
Still chuffed from Saturday.
Before the game I fancied the win but dropped points would not have surprised me.
Very encouraging.
2 points ahead of second place is encouraging but that’s all.
Still lots of work to do.
Fir Park will be interesting.

MCPHAIL BHOY,
You can get the coastal train from Lisbon to Cascais and get off at Cruz Quebrada. If fit, it’s a 15 min walk up to the stadium. If not fit and can afford a taxi, get one😁
Once at the stadium the groundsmen are used to Celtic fans arriving so should be easy to get in. If they are working on the pitch you won’t be allowed on it.
Enjoy.

Having watched the Madrid derby last night which Atlético won 3-1 and seeing Feyenoord being 0-3 up against Ajax, I think it is safe to say we are up against teams that absolutely belong in the CL. Griezmann still looks world class

The league table would suggest Ajax are particularly poor this season – we need to get maximum points at home if we are to progress.

KEITH DON’T GO
What Keith Jackson writes this morning is tepid stuff compared to the Rottweiler-savaging that is constantly delivered by numbers of our own on here, and virtually to a man on the leading “we hate the suits” site, Sentinel Celts.
He writes:
1”There is no bad blood simmering between Brendan Rodgers and Celtic’s boardroom.”
2”Rodgers seems perfectly content with the set-up.”
3 ”Rodgers is as smart a manager as they come, so he will have been acutely aware of the deficiencies which still required to be addressed in his own squad when the window shut down at the end of August.”(Every squad has deficiencies at any one time – look at Chelsea for God’s sake).
4 “He has not been equipped with the depth of quality to make good on the promise he made on his first day in the job, when he talked about making Celtic fit for purpose on the European stage.”(Too early to say after one away game – let’s wait a bit eh?).
5 “Rodgers may have to become a lot less sheepish and a great deal more bullish as this relationship moves forward.”(Directly contradicts No 2& No 6).
6 “The resilience and organisation Celtic displayed during the second half also pointed to the gradual progress that is now being made under the careful supervision of an elite manager.”
We are not the finished article, Brendan knows this, and, together with the board, backroom and recruitment staff is working to pull the squad together. There is real talent and promise within this new unexposed group. Apart from the Kilmarnock set-back, there is no reason for the panic-button to be pushed on our season. Given the choice, we would have accepted where we are before a ball was kicked – 16 from 18 in the league with a win at Ibrox, a four-point gap over Beale’s side, and a far from disgraced defeat in Rotterdam after being reduced to nine men. You can’t win the treble every year, any fool knows that!
Jackson has to deliver 750/800 words on a Monday morning. He could have saved himself and the readers a deal of time and waffle if he had just written “Brendan and his team, on and off the park, seem happy and are developing steadily into the new season”

Markiebhoy- Re fixtures. You forgot to include Sevco’s trip to Perth after they had played us. So that is 2 away and 4 home in a 6 game sequence. Yes 5 home and 1 away would never be heard of but 4 home and 2 away would certainly happen in any league. Remember too that in the second round of fixtures Sevco will have a 2 home and 4 away sequence. No doubt some of their fans will be moaning about that! Basically fixtures for Celtic and Rangers anyway are reversed season by season. Last term we had 6 home and 5 away in the first round of fixtures while Sevco had 5 home and 6 away. This season its the other way round. Next season (unless Sevco get relegated) we will have a majority of home games in the first round. It’s been this way for years. I remember Walter Smith moaning that he had 4 away and only 2 at home in the first 6 games, conveniently forgetting that it would be the opposite way round the next season.

Just watched Big Ange’s media questions.
” What do you thing of the hand ball situation”,
” I don’t know, some are given as handballs and some are not. I can’t see the difference. Unless we are starting to breed defenders with no arms I don’t know the answer”!!!
I wasn’t at Lisbon in 67 as I was only 13. Fortunately, in 1969 I sailed on a cruise on the SS Navassa with my school — OLHS Motherwell — including an overnight stop in the Portuguese capital.
The teachers organised two excursions, one to the Catholic shrine in Fatima and the other to Estadio Nacional.
Of the 24 boys from the school, 21 opted for the Celtic shrine. The stadium was basked in hot sunshine and was exactly the same as it was two years previously.
We walked up the steps from the dressing rooms and had a kick-about on the pitch, each of us taking it in turns to re-enact Tam Gemmell’s equaliser. I ended up on the high podium where Caesar lifted fhe big cup.
Great memories that will live with me until I breathe my last breath.
