Livi’s only win since August hangs over Celtic

128

Livingston pitch up at Celtic Park tomorrow with only one win and two draws from their 10 outings since August.  That victory came against the champions last month and is the principle reason we are not comfortably ahead at the top of the league table.  We owe them a backlash, Ryan Christie, in particular, may feel motivated to ensure no mistakes are made this time.

For all their indifferent form, they are strong defensively, having lost more than two goals in one game only once in 19 outings (a 3-1 defeat with 10 men at Ibrox).

Recent home games against Motherwell, St Mirren and Ross County saw Celtic swamp the opposition early on, before the tide was stemmed, with each game not being put to bed until the second half.  This is as much about energy as any assimilation requirements by opposing defenders.

We will start sharply tomorrow but it is only possible to maintain that level for so long before players begin to pace themselves.  An early goal, when Livingston are still chasing shadows, would take the stress out of the second half.

Hatem Abd Elhamed and Mo Elyounoussi will miss the clash as the Livingston match comes to soon for them both

A masterful description of a page in history!-))

  3. Don’t want to get too drawn into the political arguments. I just want to set some things into perspective. Labour’s spending plans would put our spending as a share of GDP to similar levels of Portugal & Greece. It would still be behind the likes of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Finland, France & Italy.

The word is Weejuns . A type of loafer. Cool ones were made by an American company called Bass – hence Bass Weejuns . Less cool ones could be sourced from Timpsons .

So Elyounoussi will sit out tomorrow’s game

I wonder who will take his place?

I’d like to see Sinclair rather than Hayes or Morgan.

Doesn’t seem as if Arzani & Johnston are available as they haven’t featured for the development side.

    Shved is a wildcard.

  8. It’s a pity about Johnston as he was brilliant at the start of the season.

Think Lenny will start with Hayes but agree i would prefer Sinclair was given a start

For all you Country Music fans out there BBC4 @ 9pm has a treat in store for you tonight.

New series by renowned American film maker Ken Burns (Civil War/Vietnam) will look at the history of that particular genre. Narrated, appropriately some might say, by Peter Coyote….

Hope there`s reference to Scottish and Irish influence.

With Ken Burns , I would expect that there would be.

  12. Less than 24 hours.

Let’s get away from distractions and concentrate on the three points.

We have a heavy schedule ahead of us, 11 games in just over 5 weeks.

I fully expect Neil to cautiously make use of his full squad.

No matter who gets the nod I fully expect, nay demand a comfortable 4 goal victory.

  14. Rangers‘ clash with Celtic at Ibrox in March has been moved from its original date of Saturday, March 14, to the following day, with kick-off at 12pm.And Aberdeen, who were originally supposed to host Celtic on Saturday, February 15, will now take them on the following day at 12pm.

Cannot fail not to there be. (if that makes any kind of sense)

Turns out Ken Burns is a distant relation to our own Robby so the Scots and Irish influence of and on the music will merit some examination I’m sure. Not to mention the Scots-Irish migration of the 18th century. Haven’t seen this series but know a wee bit about the work of Alan Lomax et al, and expect Burns to expand on that as is his way. A must see.

I can’t think of us not scoring against a Scottish team for four games on the trot before. The ref tomorrow will let the Livi players’ enthusiastic attitude go unchecked .

A bit strange in the live Scottish Cup from Linlithgow versus Falkirk tonight. Not only have the junior team fans forgot to bring their butcher’s apron to display, neither have the wee wee Huns as well !

    Maybe there is hope.
