FRINGE defender Adam Montgomery has quit Celtic on a loan switch to Queen’s Park – and could make his debut for his new team at Ibrox on Sunday.
The former Scotland Under-21 left-back agreed to the short-term deal at the Hampden club last night and could go straight into Callum Davidson’s line-up for the Scottish Cup last-16 encounter against Philippe Clement’s Govan outfit at the weekend.
Montgomery, 22, has already been out on temporary moves to Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Fleetwood Town and Motherwell, but his time at the Fir Park side was curtailed through injury.

With Jeffrey Schlupp arriving on loan from Crystal Palace until the end of the season to share the No.3 duties with Greg Taylor, Hoops gaffer Brendan Rodgers allowed the youngster to cross Glasgow for game-time.
It’s the second time Montgomery, who was introduced to the Celtic first team by Ange Postecoglou in 2021, has worked with Davidson who was Perth boss during his stint at the Saints.
The Championship team’s manager, speaking to the club website, said: “We are extremely pleased to be bringing Adam in.
“He is a player I know well having worked with him previously at St Johnstone and we know he will add real quality to the squad.
“He can play in a number of positions down the left hand side and that flexibility will be very important to us in terms of giving us options down that side of the team.
“We have absolutely no doubt he will have a big role to play for us for the remainder of the season.”
