LOAN Celt Scott Allan’s groin surgery has been a success, Dundee boss Neil McCann has confirmed.

The Dens Park outfit have been taking instructions from the champions who are continuing to monitor the progress of their midfielder who moved to Tayside on a season-long deal in the summer.

Playmaker Allan had been struggling with a persistent problem for about four weeks and the decision was made to have the operation during the international break.

McCann said: “He’s had successful surgery.

“Because he’s a loan player we, quite rightly, have to be guided by Celtic and their medical staff.

“It’s early days and we’re just waiting.

“He’s just had his operation so we don’t really know any more.”

Allan, signed by Ronny Deila from Hibs, still has a year to run on his Hoops contract at the end of this campaign.
