OWEN MOFFAT is on the brink of becoming Celtic’s NINTH loan star with only six days remaining in this transfer window.
The 20-year-old winger has been linked with Blackpool, according to a report in the local Gazette newspaper.
It states that there have been media suggestions the English Championship club are in talks with the youngster who is under contract at Parkhead until 2024.
UP FOR THE CUP…Owen Moffat proudly holds the newly-won Premier Sports League Cup along with fellow-starlet Adam Montgomery who is currently on a six-month loan deal at St Johnstone.
Moffat, who is a product of the Celtic academy and has been at the club since the age of seven, could be allowed to move in an effort to get game time. There is also the possibility the switch could become permanent.
The tricky touchline raider made a handful of first-team appearances last season, including coming on with seven minutes to go in the 2-1 Premier Sports League Cup Final win over Hibs in December when he replaced two-goal hero Kyogo Furuhashi.
Moffat could join the exodus of players who have left the Hoops on temporary transfers with eight already making the switch – Vasilis Barkas (FC Utrecht), Conor Hazard (HJK Helsinki), Liam Scales (Aberdeen), Adam Montgomery (St Johnstone), Osaze Urhoghide (KV Oostende), Ismaila Soro (FC Arouca), Ben Wylie (Airdrie) and Johnny Kenny (Queen’s Park).
There is every chance the likes of Mikey Johnston, Albian Ajeti, Liam Shaw and Scott Robertson could be added to the list before the window closes.
