LOGAN RED CARD APPEAL FAILS

SHAMED Shay Logan has been hammered by a two-match ban following his red card against Celtic on Sunday.

Aberdeen appealed the ordering-off which came minutes after the end of the Pittodrie side’s 1-0 win at Parkhead.

Referee Craig Thomson had no hesitation in brandishing a straight red for violent conduct by the defender.

The 30-year-old became involved with a number of Hoops players and TV pictures appeared to show him raising his hands to Mikael Lustig before being pursued towards the tunnel by Dedryck Boyata.

The Dons appealed the decision, but that was dismissed at a fast-track tribunal hearing.

Logan will now serve a two-game suspension for that dismissal, but was already facing a ban for next season’s opening league game after crashing through the SFA’s six-caution disciplinary threshold with his caution in the recent 1-1 draw with Sevco Rangers.
