CALLUM McGREGOR has been a stranger in Paradise for the past week with most of his Celtic team-mates on international duty.

But the back-to-form midfielder is relishing the challenges that lie ahead and is looking forward to the league and Cup countdown.

He said: “It’s been a busy period for me, so this a time when we can recharge. I’ll be ready to go again when we restart.

“It’s a long, hard season, but once you to get to the last few games and you have five or six wins in a row, then you are close to it.

“That is what is spurring the boys on – we know it’s within touching distance. So, if we keep our heads right and continue to perform well, there is no reason why we can’t do it.

“There is pressure every week to win and perform well, so this is no different. We are just remaining focused.’

McGregor, 22, added: “The fans, of course, are always a massive part of what we are doing. Every time we play at Celtic Park, the noise of the supporters roaring us on gives you that extra energy you didn’t think you had.

“They will definitely have a big part to play. I know they will get behind the team as they always give us great backing and, hopefully, we can go and do it together.”
