The most important news concerning John Guidetti is no longer whether Fifa recognise his registration, it’s whether John is keen to remain in Glasgow beyond May next year.
The player is not eligible for the Europa League group stage, and it is not critically important he joins for Premiership football in the first half of the season. He can join in January for the league run-in, and hopefully the latter part of the Europa League, but as we know, the next major event on Celtic’s horizon is next season’s Champions League qualifiers, which then out-of-contract Guidetti would be a valuable addition for.
Whatever the Fifa outcome, the player will be planning where he wants to play beyond this season and it’s unlikely Scotland will have previously featured heavily in his mind. Monday was a bit of a shambles for the player but he got to see how Celtic operate. Hopefully the positive sentiment will convince him this is a platform he can build his career on.
It’s just incredible that Mike Ashley had Charles Green in such a place that he was able to secure naming rights of The Stadium Formerly Referred to as Ibrox for £1. Whether he exercises this right or not is moot. The fact that he can, means that Newco Rangers have to accommodate him in the knowledge he is able to call in his marker at any time.
The only curious thing, is why was this particular piece of dirty washing hung out at this time?

Having Guidetti with Celtic, only being able to play domestic football is almost the perfect scenario considering Scapovic has to be given time to acclimatise to Celtic, Scotland and the SPL at a time when games come thick and fast.
Exactly my sentiments. We would have the option to play one or the other striker depending on the competition, or try them together on occasion.
Guidetti would also have a bit of catching up fitness wise to do whilst Scepovic has been playing regularly and should hit the pitch running.
From my earlier post Guidetti seems willing to wait until January if necessary according to Swedish media. Sounds positive.

£1 or £1M – does it make a difference? I think you can forego the revelation of investment if it’s below a certain figure, so they probably didn’t need to.
Ashley had Green over a barrel, and still has, because Ashley had cash reserves that Green thought he could use as influence.
How much are those naming rights now – next year in the PL they could be worth £5M – £10M. He can sell them on I assume, now that’s what I call foresight.

The problem for Cetlic with Guidetti is that he is a very good young striker when he gets back to full fitness I would have no doubt that he would score goals in the SPL.When he goes out of contract there will be plenty of clubs who could easily offer more money than Celtic to the player so having him long term may well be unlikely.H.H.

The transfer window was weeks long … Our main striking target was identified and medical arranged days before the deadline . He then decided to pull out of the transfer so I guess if Celtic did not already want a second striker they would suddenly need to get someone in .
With john arriving at Celtic park well ahead of the 11pm deadline surely our highly paid admin team could get their ducks in a row as it’s not as if they had not been there before and doubt that man city would drag their heels

Not bothered by Sevco but it appears to me they are softening up the uglies for the sale of Murray Park. Ye didn’t support the Share Issue, ye didn’t buy season tickets so ye left us with no option. Murray Park would bring in a lump sum but it would also improve their cash flow once its off their hands, at present the running costs there are a major drain on their resources.
Sorry to ask you to backtrack, but can someone tell me please why Green flogged the naming rights for a quid? What reasons are given? I guess there must be an obvious one but not having had a chance today to review the press, I am in the dark.

John Guidetti has had serial injury problems.
He is the perfect example of a player that you would want on loan ,with an option to buy at a pre arranged price.
Celtic dithered because the Septovic deal came through at the last gasp.
We probably don’t have it in our budget to pay the wages of the two players without releasing another.
Celtic were in total control of the situation.
Celtic have gotten the outcome that they wanted.

the long wait is over. As we await a decision on the player it is my opinion that we will get Guidetti for the whole season or part of the season ( January ).I thing the player will get himself back to full fitness while with us and when he goes out of contract there will be a bun fight for his signature and Celtic will be out priced.
