Lose and Aberdeen season is over

593

Aberdeen will already be in town ahead of their game at Firhill tonight. Lose tonight and a season which promised so much as recently as Monday, will effectively be over.

Tomorrow’s game against Inverness will present a robust challenge for Celtic. Inverness are one of four clubs locked within a point of each other, a maximum of three of them will be in the top six after the split. Despite the fact that the Highlanders are competing in the right half of the table, with a Scottish Cup quarter final against Hamilton Accies to look forward to, they are only five points from the play-off spot.

Players will be battling for their livelihoods in every sense of the word.

Well done to Erik Sviatchenko’s old team, Midtjylland, on their Europa League win over Manchester United last night. And to the observer who noted that they have now beaten more top six teams in the England and Wales Premier League than Manchester United or Manchester City.

You wonder what last night’s results will do to the marketability of the Midtjylland players, and whether or not we would have been able to get Sviatchenko in the summer, had he stayed. Big results bring focus and scores of scouts. We nipped in at the right moment with Erik.

Good luck to Thistle tonight.

  1. I see the blueprints to the Karl Heinz-Rumminege breakaway league have been leaked online.

Apparently they are about to approach the SPFL & SFA to beg for the inclusion &, Licensing of all Elite European Clubs in the Scottish Championship next year in what they’re calling a “Pilot Scheme” .

They also demand that Sevco in some form or other be their Championship Ambassador. They even said that is Sevco decide that they wanna drop down a Tier into the Scottish Premiership then they would be happy to be entertained by the Sevco Development Squad.

“Pyrrhic victory” indeed, I can’t believe that’s a complaint when you know how championships were achieved on the other side of the city,

Either try and be happy with another league title under our belts or get a life.

I’m answer to your query about the heavy rain I reported this afternoon causing a postponement at firhill ……. I’m gonna say it’s almost 101% certain; )

I would have preferred the sheep to play tonight but a victory tomorrow puts us 6 points clear so that’s good

Just as well we didn’t have a winter break this season as the weather front we have had since could lead to games being postponed, a backlog piling up, to be played on rain heavy pitches leading to potential injuries to players who would have been sunning themselves (ok keeping fit) in the Canaries. A narrow escape you have to say.

Without boring you with the detail I may inadvertantly have thrown out my son’s season card. Contacted JP Taylor this afternoon and received a reply from the ticket office within half an hour to say the ticket office could issue a replacement card tomorrow before the game, that it would normally be £15 but as this was my ‘first offebce; they’d waive the fee. Only inconvenience is having to leave a wee bit earlier for the game. Although that may allow me to stand at CQN Corner longer in the rain.
