Losers of the Durrant outburst

450

Who are the losers from the recent Ian Durrant outburst?  It’s certainly not the Pope, nor any his co-religious.  I don’t even know if it will be Durant himself, who, incredibly, “meant to cause no offense”. Durrant’s status, whatever it is worth, will be assured by what happened.

The consequences will be imperceptible, part of a slow drift of affinity away from a football affinity which was once elevated by such sentiment and, in the 21st century, limited by it.  Sponsors are not the first to leave, it’s the fans with more between their ears than Durrant. The losers are the club and fans.

  1. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

Heartening to see some positive news for MURDOCHAULDANDHAY earlier. I hope it’s a first positive step to recovery.

    HH

  2. Good morning CQN from a dark but hopeful Garngad

    COYBIG

BMCUWP a good read again on sentinelcelts.

I am not too fussed about Europa league but as the game gets nearer, I obviously want us to win. As I want us to win every game we play in.

Not seen a post from the £49er, I hope you are ok Kev, although I don’t agree with calling Celtic supporters names, a lot of your posts have good points.

  3. Re Javascript on I Pad.

Yes disabling it ensures CQN operates hassle free.

However and it’s a big however; many websites do not , especially social media sites and interactive sites like ” last minute. Com”

The ideal answer is to disable it selectively, which I’m still looking into .

Anyway COYBIG with a big HH to all who need our thoughts and prayers.

PS : Really saddened by ” trophy hunters” who kill beautiful innocent animals in the pretence of culling. Indefensible.

  4. Greenpinata I echo that regarding Java script, I have to jump back and forth to settings depending on the website/social media.

I also agree with the trophy hunting.

I also agree with COYBIG. ???

Trophy hunting is a bit like oldco/ newco (chasing us) … Not trivialising trophy hunting on animals

  6. In ither news……….

horrible wee hunned-up ned in picture editor shocker, brazenly gloating over former Timmed-up colleague………

    Funny that.

    Naw.

    HHH.

The article laments us having fewer resources than uber rich clubs and rich clubs like Leipzig.

Imagine how Hamilton or Killie or anyone else from Scotland feels when facing us.

It doesn’t really address the much more pertinent challenge of how we stop underperforming against European opposition with similar or less resource than our own. Something we’ve seen all too often.

  8. lets all do the huddle ? on

    re javascript –

have 2 different browser makes installed on your device e.g. Chrome and IE

Switch javascript off on one of them, and use that one for sites like CQN that are a nightmare if javascript is on

and use the other browser for the rest of your stuff

  9. Listening to 90 Minute Cynic podcast, recorded on Tuesday, and they read out a tweet claiming to be the starting 11 tonight.

    Gordon

    Gamboa Boyata Simunovic Tierney

    Ntcham Kouassi McGregor

    Christie Edouard Morgan

Guys on podcast thought no way would that be the team, given the injury news it might not be far away.

  10. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

Folks getting upset by Hearts McLean saying he hopes Celtic loose tonight

He is a fan of another team (probably a dead team, )

I hoped they lost every game they played so no different from him..

  11. Bold predication Bhoys and Ghirls, I reckon we can get a result tonight. No pressure on us, fringe players coming in to do a job ala Ryan Christie or Lewis Morgan, something tells me we might get something. On another note, not that Brendan and the bhoys will need motivated for Sunday but if they do they should just read scumbag MacLeans comments about wanting to see us pumped tonight, total p**k

  12. The Hun tweeting,-‘UEFA 370k windfall to SPFL Clubs…’,it’s actually bonus money Celtic earned in the CL…..hurting huns…

  13. Good morning from a cloudy Leipzig. Just emerging from blanket bay. Getting too old for this all day drinking malarkey – aye right.

Another day another Weißbier. Had an excellent evening with my mate and Kölncelt with his scarf of many badges. He acquired another badge from a Swiss Celtic supporter who was a member of The Fondue Bhoys CSC, I kid you not.

This is the day, this is the day when we win/lose/draw away.*

    * delete as necessary ?

    Hail! Hail! PMTYH ???????

  14. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Beautiful blue skies and sunshine here in Norfolk. Myself and Mrs H will be touring the flatlands today, making sure we are back to the hotel in time for kick off.

Injuries? Ach, we’ve seldom done well in away European games, especially in Germany. Would tonight be any different, if all our top players were fit? Every great player that has graced our club, got their big break and a run in our team, when someone else was injured, so hope springs eternal. Players like Ebouie Kouassi and Ryan Christie have a big chance to become heroes tonight. A defeat tonight will not be terminal to our hopes of progression in the tournament. Good luck to everyonethat that has travelled, players and supporters alike. Do us proud.

    Hail Hail

    ?⚽️

  15. I agree with those in the “non leg break” camp.

However, a broken metatarsal or two, or a busted talus.or maybe shattered phalanges.

    Aye, that wid dae.

  16. och, one wee hearts player wanting celtic to get beat, sure it was only back in 2003 that a whole scotland squad was cheering on porto.

  17. Regarding Naismith, whereas I wouldn’t go as far as saying I wished an injury on him, if it does happen, I wouldn’t shed any tears over it.

  18. SAINT STIVS on 25TH OCTOBER 2018 10:02 AM

och, one wee hearts player wanting celtic to get beat, sure it was only back in 2003 that a whole scotland squad was cheering on porto.

    ========================================================

Lets not forget either Kirsty Wark having a “Porto party ” or Mr Respectable of the BBC Ken Bruce playing his first record of the following day as ” Crying in the Chapel”.

Lots of people came out to celebrate after we lost, then quickly returned to their respectable place in moderate all things are equal Scotland.

  19. 50 shades of green on

‘re Mcleans comments on hoping we get “pumped “.

Not a problem with that and I’m sure if any team he plays for ever get into Europe I will reciprocate the sentiment.

However if for instance we were playing the Zombies this weekend and Griff was to come out and state in public that he hoped whatever they are called now gets pumped, I’m sure the media would be full of mock indignation .

    Goodforthegoose.csc.

  20. To be fair, standing on the terraces at Love Street on 3rd May 1986 with my huge Ghetto-Blaster on my shoulder, I wanted Hearts to ‘get pumped’ at Dens Park.

And I do believe they were indeed pumped.

(probably helped by their current manager calling off sick on the morning of the game)

  21. 50 shades of green on

Although if a Aberdeen player was to say the same today about the reincarnated I’m pretty sure his ” manager ” would drop him for the weekend.

  22. 50 shades of green on

I hope the fans of the deed team are all safe and well tonight, after all they Moscow fans are nuts running aboot stabing folk and attacking individuals, am glad the Glesga polis have drafted in hauners to protect them ?.

  23. For the record.

Whilst I do not condone leg breaking, I’m all for a bit of harsh physical on our opponents who attempt to hurt us, ie, retaliate first if you follow.

Over the years, I’ve seen some brutal treatment handed down to our players, a lot of the time these “tackles” are unpunished by the huns in black, but we know that do we not?.

There are some real nasties out there, Lafferty , Naesense etc but we must retain our dignity and rise above this behaviour ‘cos We are CELTIC.

If I upset some earlier then that’s a shame and apologies to those shrinking violets who were upset, diddums.

Big score tonight, feel it in my water!!

    KINGLuBO

  24. 50 shades of green on

I see Big Sutty has tweeted the team that was on here a while back as possible started 11 for tonight.

Now where did I put that couch ??
