LOST BHOY! CELTIC ‘TARGET’ IN AWOL MYSTERY

NIGERIAN wonderkid Stephen Odey, who has been linked with Celtic, has gone AWOL.

Top-flight club MFM claim their 19-year-old star striker is missing – and they have no idea where he is.

Earlier reports from Nigeria indicated the Scottish champions had made the first move in their bid to assess the pacy frontman who is his country’s top scorer with 14 goals this season.

But, in a bizarre twist, Russian outfit Krasnodar, new Celt Eboue Kouassi’s former club, have come on the scene and there is now speculation Odey and his representative have given the go-ahead to a move.

Now it appears the forward has left the country without the knowledge of his team.

However, suggestions emerged last night that he could be in Denmark with FC Copenhagen and Erik Sviatchenko’s former club FC Midtjylland keen to have a look at hom.

Coach Fidelis IIechukwu claimed the player left the club without informing anybody about his possible destination.

He admitted: “I’m not aware of his whereabouts, I feel travelling out at this time will not help his career.

“You have a chance ‎to train with the Super Eagles and maybe make the team, it’s only normal you consider it ahead of a move abroad.

“Odey leaving at this time is not the best for his career. If you ask me, I think his representatives should have handled his next move better than they did.”

The teenager is being considered for Nigeria’s training camp ahead of their forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
