LUIS IN LIMBO

LUIS PALMA is not prepared to write off his Celtic career, despite dropping out of the first-time picture at the champions.

The 25-year-old Honduran international left-winger is on his way back to Parkhead after his brief loan stint at Olympiakos.

Palma, who still has three years to run on his Hoops deal after his £3.5million arrival from AEK Athens in the summer of 2023, joined the Greek giants in January with an option to buy in the temporary transfer agreement.

He made 13 appearances for the club, but was left out of the squad for the national Cup Final at the weekend when Olympiakos beat OFI Crete 2-0 to seal the double.

THE FINAL HURDLE…Luis Palma skips over a challenge from Ryan Astley in the 3-3 draw with Dundee at Dens Park in January, the Honduran winger’s last league appearance for Celtic this season.

Palma is currently preparing to play for his country in the Concacaf Gold Cup and has been speaking to the local media about his future at club level.

The flamboyant wide Bhoy told reporters: “I have a contract with Celtic. I can’t talk about another team.

“For the moment, I have a contract, I have a chance.”

Palma made only eight league appearances for Celtic in the first half of the season with his last outing coming in the 3-3 draw with Dundee at Dens Park in January.

He moved to Greece before the end of that month, but has failed to entice the nation’s champions into making it a permanent switch.

Palma now faces a spell in soccer limbo as Rodgers assesses his first-team squad options for the 2025/26 campaign.
