LUSTIG IN BROKEN TOE MYSTERY

MIKAEL LUSTIG could be struggling to face Sevco Rangers at Parkhead on Sunday with reports from his native Sweden insisting the right-back has a broken toe.

The international defender was missing from the Celtic squad against Hibs at Easter Road at the weekend when Brendan Rodgers played a back three with Jack Hendry covering on the right.

Lustig had played the previous week as the Hoops routed the Ibrox side 4-0 in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.

If the reports from Sweden are accurate, the player could be out for three or four weeks which would put his place in jeopardy for the Scottish Cup Final against Motherwell on May 19.

The 31-year-old, who missed a few weeks at the turn of the year, is quoted as saying: “I have a broken toe. but I hope to be back at the weekend.”

There’s a possibility something got lost in translation!

A year ago, Lustig enjoyed the 5-1 triumph at Ibrox and brought down the curtain on a fabulous performance with a wonderful solo goal.
