LUSTIG INJURY SCARE

MIKAEL LUSTIG is an injury doubt for Celtic ahead of the Premiership game against Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side at Parkhead a week today.

The Swedish international defender was taken off during his nation’s 2-1 Euro 2020 qualifying win over Romania after sustaining a knock.

Lustig left the field after only 24 minutes putting a question mark over his availability for the Glasgow derby.

Neil Lennon now could face a defensive crisis with left-back Kieran Tierney, who returned early from Scotland international duty during the week, also facing a fight for full fitness.

Centre-half Dedryck Boyata is another doubt after he withdrew from the Belgium squad ahead of their clash with Cyprus, as CQN reported earlier today.

Jeremy Toljan, on loan from Borussia Dortmund, is standing by to replace Lustig while Coatian Under-21 star Filip Benkovic is available again after injury.

The Leicester City stopper made his comeback in the 1-0 stoppage-time triumph over Dundee at Dens Park a week ago today when he replaced concussion victim Kristoffer Ajer in the second-half.
