LUSTIG IS NEW HOOPS INJURY WORRY, BETTER NEWS FROM JOZO

1

CELTIC’S injury problems continue to pile up with the news Mikael Lustig missed training with Sweden yesterday.

The versatile right-back could now miss his nation’s home World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg on Saturday night.

Lustig could now join Jozo Simunovic, Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong and Erik Sviatchenko on the Parkhead treatment table as Brendan Rodgers prepares for a crucial October campaign with two Champions League clashes against Bayern Munich thrown into the mix.

The defender could be feeling the affects of playing four games in 10 days against Dundee, Sevco Rangers, Anderlecht and Hibs.

The Hoops’ medical staff will be in contact with their Swedish counterparts to monitor Lustig’s fitness. They are also due to face Holland in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

Simunovic’s hamstring tear was yesterday reported as being likely to keep him out for 6 to 8 weeks. However the player was back at Celtic Park yesterday and while speaking to some supporters, reckons he will be fine for the trip to Germany in two weeks time. Fingers crossed.
