LUSTIG’S EURO FOCUS

CELTIC defender Mikael Lustig is aiming to play his part in tomorrow night’s Champions :League qualifier against Stjarnan at Parkhead.
The Swedish international right-back missed his side’s Premiership-winning run-in last year after suffering an ankle injury at the start of February.
However, he has played in all three of the Hoops’ friendlies ahead of the second qualifying round first-leg tie against the Icelandic champions.
Lustig is in line to start the match following the exit of fellow right-back Adam Matthews to Sunderland, with recent signing Saidy Janko still getting up to speed at his new club.
He said: “Fitness-wise, I would lie if I said I’m in the best shape of my life, but it’s getting better.
“It’s important that I’ve played in three games now and, hopefully, on Wednesday I’m going to be ready.
“I know there will competition for places. Both me and Adam Matthews did well together, but the main thing for me now is to try to stay fit for the season.
“If I am fit, I am sure I will be able to start.”
