    Cross field pass , now when Bolingoli realises, he’s not getting there he has stop, cover the space, he keeps going, they just play the ball right into the space he left vacant and in their in behind the Celtic defence.

     

     

    I’m sorry that is inexcusable, get rid pronto, guy’s an absolute bombscare.

    i wouldn’t normally worry about pre season games but the fact the huns have strolled both games is strange. did they play mostly first team both games?

    Really was men against boys out there as expected. Only Klimala from that 11 would be pushing for the inclusion in the first team. Hopefully 1st string out for the 2nd half to make a real contest of it.

    Not going to be too down, some positives for me: Elhammed looked to be up for it, Soro some nice touches, Karamoko grew into it and good movement from Klimala who was getting some treatment – as was Elhammed.

     

    The gaps on our flanks, and between defence and middle are still a concern.

    I’ve seen him play and knew early on he was a dud.

     

     

    Thank God the signing fee and wages were minimal.

    No they didn’t, they mixed it up. Looking at the games with a clinical eye, the Sevco defence, both first and second team, yielded far fewer chances to the opposition than we have. Their whole game is playing it very tight at the back, then breaking very quickly to Kent, Jones and Banker, who are all very quick. It worked for them.

    I remember some idiot running on to Celtic Park when Celtic were being pumped by Man U in a pre-season game.

     

     

    I remember the DR ‘Celtic in Crisis’ headlines when MON was manager during a pre-season tour of the US.

     

     

    Perspective is always needed at this time of year.

     

     

    Having said all that, Bolongoli is just not up to it.

    Welsh lost for most of that half.Playing left side with Boli.Deary me.Biton,kept the floodgates shut.Karamoko,some lovely touches.Henderson looked knackered after 30 mins.

     

    Still say,it was ridiculous to put that team out against full strength Lyon.Mix it up.Experience to help out the kids.Anyone saying different,talking guff.Trying to be wide.And failing.

    Not a panic comment,however I understand the logic of getting “the team” up to fitness against better class opposition,I do not understand why we are giving this experience,doubtful as it is,to many players who wont be in the top 11.

     

     

    Getting a beating is not beneficial to anyone,irrespective it be a friendly or not,

    I had forgotten how negative many on CQN can be when we are not winning or, in this case, losing. I suppose it shows how much some care but it really is only a Friendly. Winning might be of primary importance for us in these games but I am sure it serves other purposes for the Management.

    how long does it take to realise we have a dud at left back that allegedly cost £3.5 million , El Hamed doing what he does gets a knock and decides he’s had enough , this thrown together 11 looks exactly like they were introduced to each other prior to the game starting , not good enough even for a pre season, men against Bhoys.

    Well technically yes, but we had signings under Rodgers that he knew nothing about, I’m sure the rumour was he was earmarked to come in from, well the mystery man who makes signings that no one wants to discuss.

     

     

    I’ve said Bolingoli was never going to cut it from day one, received a lot of stick on here for my opinion, i never do it lightly but this guy has made unforced errors time after time, a few good forages forward, will never make up for errors this player will repeatedly make. H H

    I remember Celtic returning from a USA tour and humping a Manchester all star side.

     

    4-1 I think it was and it was a harbinger of a great season.

    The Lyon centre half has constantly come right through the back of Klimala

     

    I would be worried bringing on Odsonne, and the real risk of injury if that continues

     

     

    PS – in agreement with comments on Bolingoli, very poor left back

    Reasons for playing non first team players:

     

    – to learn that it won’t always go your own way

     

    – to learn that the manager believes in you

     

    – to learn to play in adversity

     

    – to learn to dig deep

     

    – to learn to play calm

     

    – to learn not the get emotional after one mistake, or two mistakes

     

    – to learn you’re part of a squad

     

     

    I don’t wish to presume what Neil Lennon is thinking but I know he’s forgotten more about Celtic and Football than I’ll ever know. So I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and support the players he has on the field today. I might even consider doing the same when the season starts…when the games count for something.

    I think El Hamed looks a good player,( any time he appeared ) if however he is a treatment table case then no use to us,after all that’s why Jose got the push.
