MacDERMID, CLANCY IN CHARGE

MATTHEW MacDERMID will be in charge of Celtic’s Premiership game against Livingston in West Lothian on Saturday.

And Kevin Clancy will be the man with the whistle when the champions face Motherwell at Fir Park three days later.

MacDermid will be assisted by Frank Connor and Dougie Potter on the lines with Nick Walsh at the VAR controls.

For the midweek clash, Calum Spence and Douglas Ross will be Clancy’s assistants with Andrew Dallas taking care of the technology.

It will be the match official’s fourth game concerning the Parkhead club and the Hoops will be hoping for better luck than the last time out – the 3-1 Premier Sports League Cup Final loss to St Mirren at Hampden earlier this month.

BOOKED…Kevin Clancy flashes the yellow card at Marcus Fraser during St Mirren’s recent 3-1 Premier Sports League Cup Final win over Callum McGregor and Co at Hampden.

Clancy was also tasked with controlling Celtic’s 3-0 home win over Livingston and 1-0 success in Paisley in November. He also presided over the 4-0 League Cup triumph against Championship side Partick Thistle at Firhill in September.

Wilfried Nancy stopped the rot at the champions on Sunday when he led the team to a 3-1 win over Aberdeen at Parkhead after losing his first four games.

The Hoops are six points behind Hearts with a game in hand.

The Premiership pacesetters are involved in the Edinburgh derby against Hibs at Easter Road at 12.30pm on Saturday before Celtic’s 3pm start against Livi.
