This was pursuit of tax that should have been paid starting end of fy 2000/01 to 2002/03 and became overdue at end of each tax year.
So by 31 Dec 2010 the sum of £2.8m including extras was way overdue as it should have been paid under the PAYE terms for those earlier years under Regulation 80 rules for collecting unpaid tax that should have been paid on past wages but wasn’t due to avoidance/evasion.

If they chose to leave the blog then other events caused their leaving. I’d like to be able to take credit for ridding the blog of some of the more unpleasant stuff, but- naw! that was not why they/ he stopped posting.
