Madden semi-final ref, what were the odds?

1107

What were the odds of Bobby Madden being appointed referee for our Scottish Cup semi-final against Newco?  Fairly short, I would imagine.  All we want from Bobby is a fair crack of the whip.  When a Newco player lunges with both feet off the ground at Patrick Roberts, we don’t expect him to be distracted by checking his watch.  When Leigh Griffiths is taken down, waist high, inside the box, before his opponent can get near the ball, we expect a penalty.

Such expectations were not on the coupon previously but are not too much to ask.

Did Friesdorfer tell you about the compliment paid to you on the Arbroath Emerald CSC Bus?

  2. I wonder if Pierre Van Hooijdonk’s infamous statement: about 7k pay rise being alright for the homeless , but not for an international player got lost in translation at the time . While I can never condone such crass statements, the MSM loved it and have turned it into his Celtic legacy.

What about the razor blades being sent through the post, the disgraceful abuse in the streets , The spitting in his face etc etc.

Anyway, withstanding the crass remark; I thought he was a tremendous player who gave us another option up front.

I often wish we had a similar option upfront. Wednesday night being the latest thinking.

    HH. There’s only one Pierre.

After county won 4 nil the other night without the cowardly thug playing, maybe just maybe its the County players who want his ban increased as well. :-) :-) :-)…..

Would love “A Bang On The Ear.”

It started up in Fife, but ended up in tears.

Genius lyric that could have been written for me. :)

    Hi all.

That’s me returned from a sunny Fuereventura.

My wife and youngest said best holiday ever. I would rather go back to The Gairloch, but if funds allow, I can see me being outvoted for the foreseeable future.

For any that are interested, I took a bad allergic reaction on Tues, with my illness ( Mast Cell Activation Syndrome ) I can be allergic to something one day but not the next,or vice versa, of all things it was Aloe Vera that done me this time. My torso is still a mess but I’m home safe and and resting. It was a long journey home for me though.

D.D. I want to put it out there, thank you, considering all you’ve been through, your text meant a lot to me. You are a star!!!

    Hail Hail

That was my opinion at the time, and remains so now.

Seems Fergus told Pierre that if he performed well,he would be rewarded and his contract improved. When he had met his side of the bargain,Fergus simply stated that he had signed a contract.

I’d be p’d off wi that. And I’d have sacked my agent.

    Another wee story.

    I love wildlife, particularly birds.

I went to The Cairngorms a few years ago, trying to find some rarer birds.

I went to a place called Lost and found a male Goshawk, an incredible bird. I text my 2 oldest to tell them. My daughter replied, that’s brilliant, so pleased for you Dad, my son replied you’re a boring ba****d Dad. :-)

We are all different, I guess.

    Hail Hail

The Basel thingy wasn’t in defence of Brendan I was talking about our idea as a support of our “European Standing”

I’ve thought for quite a while now that our ideas about Celtic in Europe and where we stand have been above what we actually deliver.

I did write a further post which wooshed into cyberspace wondering how Basel would do under the SFA and having to go through the qualifiers every season like we do.

I do think though Basel have a very good youth and scouting system and Swisssy fitbaw has left Scotland looking rather daft with their national team etc which if you think about it 20 years ago would have been unthinkable.

Swiss fitbaw is shite and Basel are a big team in a small country who have just choked this season on their way to a Nine but they get results in Europe on a regular basis and a few humpings along the way.

The SFA have completely mangled our league and our game and it’s a pure brass neck so it is when you see where comparable country like Switzerland is.

Football clubs are like any other employer. They have a duty of care to their employees physical and mental well-being.

While I reckon di Canio probably worked his ticket,Celtic let themselves down,IMO,in their treatment of Van Hooijdonk and Cadete.

And their initial treatment of Petrov-turn up for training and games and do what you like in a strange land where you don’t speak the language-was appalling.

Highly paid footballers are still highly fragile human beings.

  12. BADA BING,regarding the ticket office ,were will the fans that want to pay there season tickets, and relocation’s go,any ideas, and when is Broonies,Testimonial.also one of my wishes for next season, is that hopefully a few good Celtic Minded men and women, join the Celtic Board of Directors, who will not be afraid to speak up to the S F A,and other clubs, who up till now have had a easy ride, regarding Celtic.
