MALKY DREAMS OF A RETURN TO PARADISE

MALKY MACKAY has revealed he would be interested in managing Celtic.
The former Hoops defender has been out of work since being dismissed by Wigan and replaced by ex-Celt Gary Caldwell last month.
Mackay is on the look-out for a quickfire return to management and admitted the lure of Parkhead would prove irresistible.
The 43-year-old said: “The Celtic job, I don’t think there is anyone who would look at it and say that they wouldn’t want it.
“Obviously, you are very respectful to who is in a job, but it’s a huge, worldwide job.

“I’ve been there inside the fabric of that football club during a very colourful period in its history.

“It’s an institution. You only need to look at the fanbase worldwide and the potential, in terms of what a couple of the managers recently have done in Europe, to see how good a job that is.”Mackay, who has also managed at Watford and Cardiff City, has admitted he has an open mind about his next step in football.

Asked if he would take a management job in Scotland, he said: “Yes”. And revealed he had been offered such a position “in the last couple of years”.
Given his recent track record and indeed the baggage that now surrounds Malky it would be astonishing if he ever got anywhere near the Celtic job. We can all dream though.
