  1. MARGARET MCGILL on 25TH AUGUST 2015 11:47 PM

Maggie see my previous remark re board.

I don’t care who is on the board.

I support the team on the park.

Again, why do you seek our company through the blog when you despise fellow supporters and their support of the team?

Does it make you feel superior?

  2. GG

Yes….I do want the billionaire DD to splash the cash on some decent players….if he cant do that, he should get to feck, and take the bonus king with him.

    PL and DD….total charlatans.

We could not do any worse with them gone…..they bring nothing to Celtic but personal greed for money.

Billionaires and millionaires pleading poverty….aye right.

  3. The Green Man 11.43. No idea in the world why you addressed that post to me.

I’m as gutted as any other Tim tonight but I just wonder how many of the post match experts who have it all sussed out were singing the same tune 10 minutes into the first game.

We lost an Effing Tie 4-3 on aggregate and had an absolutely perfect goal disallowed tonight,

Yes we were poor tonight but I don’t believe we are as bad as tonights performance might indicate, we had a terrible night but we will come back from it.

I understand people’s disappointment but I think some of the criticism and comments have been contemptible. Smart Arses can go on about tutus but I’m not sure I have much in common with a lot of posters here and maybe its just time to seek another outlet to share my interest in Celtic.

Summer football might explain Malmo`s success in the last 2 seasons. Not sure why it hasn’t been a bigger factor in previous years though. Swedish teams have very rarely troubled the CL group stages, Danish teams maybe more of a common sight, and don’t think any Norwegian sides have got a look in since Rosenborg tailed off years ago.

Didn’t we eliminate Spartak in 2007 when they played through the summer?

I think teams such as ourselves have nowhere to go in some ways, priced out of the market for top players, we don’t have a clue on developing our own talent or finding steady eddie reliable performers like the Radovic bloke who destroyed us for Legia last season. Instead we seem hell bent on becoming a Dundee Utd tribute act. Steaua Bucharest meantime have the mighty Gregory Tade, ex Raith Rovers, playing up front. Maybe these results are not such a surprise after all.

As one who supported Gordon throughout and Neil for that matter tonight was a worrying sign for me in terms of Ronnie. I think he might have compromised his selection tonight something neither of the two above would have done.

My only criticism of Gordon was the fact that the board knew he was leaving and didn’t back him in the Fletcher/Flood window.

Lawwell has taken £2m in last two years ……………….

    =========================================================================================

Would you be kind enough to direct me to your source, so that your assertion can be verified ?

  7. Our level is now at the second CL qualifying round. That’s the “will we make it, will we not ?” match.

Winning the play off qualifying round seems a bridge too far. As someone old enough to remember two European finals, this hurts bad. Unfortunately I don’t see any solution in sight. The test is to imagine the current team playing Lenny’s best or Strachan’s best. I know who my money would be on.

  8. Europa league…..draw…….Celtic…..Lithuanian team….khazaktanian team……Cypriot team…….Finnish whipping boys team….(0-0) then (1-0) close game…but maybe next year….can’t wait….

  9. THE GREEN MAN on 25TH AUGUST 2015 11:59 PM

That sounds like we want the same actions taken by David Murray and promised by the Glib and Shameless Liar.

That’s not how we are structured. We have to be self sustaining.

Unless we have another share issue which will increase DD’s majority holding.

  10. Tricoloured Ribbon,

Not long back after the match and read back.

  11. Davidopoulous,

Lawwell will never apologise for his mismanagement of Celtic.

He is the highest compensated employee in Celtics history. Why should he give up the easiest ÂŁ1M / year gig on the planet.

This year he sells VIrgil. Next season he has Sevco back. Lawwell next ÂŁ2M out of Celtic is secured. If Ronny fails he will go for Henrik or sell Bitton or Gordon.

    The downsizing will continue unabated.

Lawwell loves the song …here we go 10 in a row. He calls it the bonus song as he is going for his 10th straight ÂŁ1M package this year.

He will be tucked up in bed shortly without a care in the world.

  12. Get Henke in now….

Then take your Rory Bremner jokes and feck off to the SFA Lawwell……

No valedictory speech please you fat useless bastard…..

Go join your Masonic mates, on the 6th floor at Hampden, and your 5 way agreement…..

Arsenal wanted you …..my big fat arse!!

I know you read this blog….

    Just feck off please…..

THE EXILED TIM on 26TH AUGUST 2015 12:03 AM

And thanks to Ronny, principally, we don`t have 2 times C.L. money to spend.

And if we did have the money, who would want to come to Celtic in it`s current condition?

  14. Tiny Tim and myself have been saying it for ages on here , celtic have no battlers , no guts . A team load of softies . There were two men commentating on the game tonight , who are the type we are needing . Was there a mjallby , there tonight or a balde ,Sutton , hartson. Thompson. Or valgaheren . They all had what this team hasn’t, BOTTLE , GUTS . Of course the team containing these players , only took us to Seville , via Blackburn .and Liverpool . And elsewhere . Oh and I followed a team containing . Gemmell Murdoch . McNeil . Auld , Hughes. All hard as nails . Saw them beat on the very odd occasion . But never saw them surrender on the way to those odd defeats .

  15. THE GLORIOUS BALANCE SHEET

No doubt the cards are stack against us, but the players we employ should be doing better?

I don’t know, maybe my expectations are warped and unrealistic. But if we pay players large amounts of money (more than our opponents) can afford then maybe they should show up for a big match?

Big fan of these players buy the following werent worthy of their wage:

VVD, Johansen, commons, Mulgrew, and dare I say it, Brown.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing these guys redeem themselves in the EL

Good night you Princes of CQN, you kings of Timdom.

Hail hail and God bless you all.

If we go by what appears to be what the supporters want then we should play Thursday and Saturday. If that means resting most of the team then ok I would prefer that. Pick your priority Europa or SPL? That would take balls and have we got them?

    HH GMB

  17. GG

Forgive me….but I don’t think you represent the majority view anymore.

Supporters have had enough of seeing Celtic pumped in Europe.

How these board chancers can pay themselves bonuses while the team goes backwards, is beyond me.

In reality….PL has been handsomely rewarded for failure.

It just cant go on….nobody is bigger than Celtic….Certainly not chancers like DD and PL.

When the Board become more important than the team on the park, and the supporters who fund their bonuses….well…..its time for them to go, whoever they feck they think they are.

While I defend RD and GS to a large extent I have to also extend NL the same courtesy in so far as he is working under the same financial constraints.

However let’s not get carried away with him being a tactical genius.

He was the man who went to Ajax on Matchday 4, when a draw would’ve been a fabulous result in terms of coming 3rd in the group, and played a midfield 4 of Stokes, Forrest, a crocked Commons and a 50% Samaras.

NL had his favourites and picked them. RD has his favourites and his main man is currently not doing it for him.

CORKCELT: Nil illegitimi carborundum! True Celtic supporters take the lows the same as the highs. You are there to support the Celtic and can take the blows when they come, but still stick with the team That’s not to say that we can’t criticise, personally I think PL has confused prudence with parsimony, but what do I know? On the night we were dreadful in most positions but the non-Sayers will always be in the majority after any loss. Stick with it on the CQN blog otherwise this blog would be full of Johnas!

  21. I hope we really take it out on our next opponents….I hope the world see how good we are against……..who is is again…….Hamilton Accies?…..whoever…….

Would you please go away and play golf with your Aston Villa or Liverpool mates?

  23. the glorious balance sheet on 26th August 2015 12:02 am

It’s not a deciding factor, but it is a factor. Plus it’s cup football. Sometimes the ‘bigger’ team get’s beaten over two legs unexpectedly.

We are now among a group of teams that will occasionally get to the CL, but it won’t be a regular occurrence.

I couldn’t find a value for the Swedish TV deal, but Norwegian teams get more than we do. Belgian teams twice as much.

Unless we get a decent Europa League run we’ll probably end up making a loss if we don’t get good money for VvD. What does that tell you about our costs vs income. Where can cut’s be made to alleviate that? I don’t think shipping out PL for somebody that does the job for ÂŁ200k can be the entirety of the solution.

If’ we’d signed Finbogasson for ÂŁ5M last season and he’d had the same season as he’s just had, we be starting the season with a big black hole in the finances.

I’m not sure the plan is 100% right but I’d rather it was stuck to, so everybody knows exactly what it is, than throwing money at it and hoping for the best.

    Some observations

The tie should have been done and dusted last week

Malmo are not a good team but what they do is move the and the team forward quickly. We are pedestrian in our build ups allowing opposing teams to regain their shape.

Virgil strolls the SPFL. Apart from one or two games he hasnt overly impressed in europe. We have shipped a lit if european gosls whilst he has been the mainstay of the defence. Be interested to see if he is a success in Premiership or a Boumsong.

I remember feeling like this when we lost to Basel playing 4 centre halves and we know what happened that year.

Itonically the europa final is in Basel this year :-)

  26. Wonder how many tiers we will open for our Europa League matches against the 5th place team from the Moldovan pub league on a Thursday night in the November Rain…….

Not to worry…..the return of the DeadHuns will only be a few months away ……inferior quality to the Moldovan pub team….but it will fill the stadium to the rafters again…

    GG . So I did , unforgivable . The silent assassin .

  28. The ghood will prevail

No one is asking for a reckless spend.

For example we know that we are likely to offload VVD and Stokes for a tidy sum.

Spending even 25% per cent of that knowing what we were about to recoup is not a gamble.

We were defensively and attack short going into Europe again.

    Is this wise governance.

Last year was the same and it had huge consequences.

As i said we are run purely as a profitable business.

The footballing side comes as a poor second to our custodians.

Will look forward to the next few days of bored spin and transfers.

  29. Jimtim……

I believe you are correct about the lack of physicality in our team.

But recalling Big John and Sutty…

….horrible, very horrible, away performances against Anderlecht and Rosenberg
