Celtic played some terrific brave football to-night, who would believe the team would be unbeaten over two legs against the EPL billionaires club. Delighted to finish on a high playing some lovely passing skillful football and getting p;laudits from all the pundits and the job Brendan Rodgers is doing with this team. i think Dembele may need a rest off form lately.
Am I right in saying that the only English player on the park was wearing a Celtic jersey? Brown, forest, Armstrong, Gordon, griff, McKay Steven – seven Scots all featuring. KT Would have been 8.
Scottish football in decline?
It is possible that more scots will play in the CL this week for one club than English players in the whole competition.

Cowiebhoy,
That’s a big win for the Dons. Glad they did it, keeps the pressure on Warbiola’s galacticos.
On twitter there are videos of Man City fans attacking Celtic supporters being escorted out of the Man City end.
It’s the quiet ones you need to watch.
Absolutely disgraceful stuff from the Mancs.

Scottish Champions Celtic score 4 against England’s champions :-)
I think most of us would have wanted Brendan to set up his teams to be hard to beat in the CL – no way would I for one have thought we could go toe to toe with city or Barca. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that.
So I’m all the more impressed with what Brendan has done for the team.

Style of play is light years different between SPL and CL.
Scottish refereeing is also a factor as what little skill we have is not protected.
Hoof it up the park. Getintaethem. Cripple him. Sums up the attitude up here.

A performance absolutely brimming with confidence. Outstanding all over the park but Armstrong was a stand out, he looks like a top class player at the moment

Stiring it big time, no matter what the manager says and how happy he is to be managing Celtic, the press cant stand it and dont want the threat he brings, so they get someone with” supposedly” Celtic leanings to say it and it will continue and grow the better we get
So 4, yes 4 of your best players, McGinn, Pawlett, Rooney and O’Connor don’t get a sniff of a start on Saturday but play tonight from the start and your team wins 5 – 1 with you having made your excuses before Saturday’s game about why your team would probably lose ………….mmmmmmmmmmm??!!!!!!
Well you can call me paranoid or maybe I’m just a realist.
Never mind they won’t even be able to sniff our shoes.

Very creditable performance tonight against in the top 4 of the elite EPL.
In our 29 games so far this season, we have only failed to score of 5 occasions (Barca x2, a German team, Beer Sheva and Lincoln, all in Europe) these being the only games we have lost. Otherwise we have won 19 and drawn 5 when we have scored at least once.
Doc on
The other thing to say about our performance tonight was it was brave.
Press them high, force errors, be brave on the ball.
That comes from a manager who believes in the team.
Why does he believe in them?
He trains them, he prepares and coaches them to do the things he wants and then he trusts them to do it.
Davidopoulos, I was offered the chance to accompany a Man City supporting 5-a-side buddy o the game tonight, but would have had to sit amongst the City fans Having experienced some very unpleasant and unprovoked aggression towards the Celtic support by City fans exiting a pre-season friendly in Manchester a few years back I told him that I couldn’t accept his kind offer due to concerns for my own safety.

Bt coverage has been pretty good this season but that was awful tonight. It was like city were playing a team from Austria ir Romania

English media really are way up their own backsides.
Guy on five live just asked a German football expert if Arsenal or Leicester should be worried if they get Bayern!
Errr – would this be the Leicester that can’t beat West Brom or Hull???
When the draw was made I was in the lucky to get a point camp and I reckon most supporters would have been in the same boat if they were honest, the transformation from last season is unbelievable, not a slight on Ronny, but Brendan has something Ronny didny have, they are know as balls :-)

Don’t think any of the English clubs will come close to winning it this year. City have tremendous players, but they look less than the sum of their parts. Arsenal are perennial bottle merchants and Leicester are total imposters, frankly.

Someone asked if any Englishman in the City team
Tosin Adarabioyo is an English Nigerian, according to transfermarket :-)
I’d be the same. I don’t think I would feel comfortable sitting in the home end in any English stadium to watch Celtic. However, people have a right to safety in the stadium and being assaulted is totally unacceptable.
There was footage earlier in the season of a West Ham thug throwing an Astra fan down the steps at the Olympic stadium during a European match, it was quickly brushed under the carpet. England still has hooliganism problems, just doesn’t want to talk about it any more.
