  1. Roberts probably won’t get his place once Sinclair comes back, with Paddy heading off and champions league qualifiers to plan for, he may find starts hard to come by from now till season’s end.

  2. Guid stuff fae the Cellic the night.

Team on the pitch = Brilliant performance!

Team in the dug out = Brilliant performance!

Team wi the scarves on in the stands = Performance under review!

Ye see, Cellic players on the pitch tonight will certainly have opened a few eyes…imho.

Brendan managed the game brilliantly…without our 2 best players as well too.

Keiran and Sinky were big misses and, how Brendan managed to, manage those absences is testament to his capabilities…imho.

I said last season that, Cellic wouldn’t need to spend alot of money this season as, the players were already there…all they needed was managed properly…imho.

I’m not wanting to tempt fate by predicting where Brendan will take this club….as I always counsel myself with the downside of his appointment in that, he has let the PLC soul-sellers off the hook….for now.

    Anyway,……..

As for the travelling fans, indeed, the home fans at Celtic Park as well, really need to examine why they have to inject the Provo song book into the shift they, as ‘supporters’ are supposed to be doing…’supporting’ the team to perform at the best of the players abilities.

    Now, don’t get me wrong.

The Provo song book is, for a lot of us….a very strong thread in our own particular cloth.

But, in the context of a Cellic game were the players are requiring all the backing that they can get,….the secret is to keep the songs, chants, booing of the oppositions possession of the ball….at a quick, up beat tempo…imho.

    Ah mean,….songs like…

    Grace….

    The Roll Of Honor….

The Bhoys Of The Old Brigade…

are, grand, grand heart-string tugging songs but, they’re to long winded and don’t supply the…

    Quick Tempo…

    High energy…

Jungle Juice….driven chants that, lift the Cellic players to new hights and, leave the opposition players trying to work out,……where do these Cellic players get that extra yard from ?

Go back and read this…..OWEN on 6TH DECEMBER 2016 8:39 PM

….if ye canny stand what I’m saying, read it from sumdy else….a sumdy who is closer to the aspects of the questionable song book than I’ll ever be.

Know what else,….don’t be cheap and twist this particular post into….

…”Say’s a blow hard who dizny support the team any more!”……sort of retort, that’s cheap.

Not only is it cheap, it’s a poor mans lazy journalism….imho.

Yeah,…I don’t financially support the Cellic anymore for loads of reasons but,….tonight isny about me.

Tonight is about the continuation of the learning curve that, Brendan, his players and,….most important of all, the supporters who pay they’re money in….are on…..don’t waste what could be invaluable experience at the top level of the game by, kidding on that ye need tae be seen as some sort of continuity group, representing the oppressed underdog football club called, Glasgow Celtic by fighting a war that has finished almost 20 years ago….move on ffs.

Ye see, there seems to be a lot, an awful lot of confusion going on among a lot of Cellic supporters of today.

Ah mean, a lot of fans go and sing these republican songs as though they’re making some kind of point about resisting the oppression of the establishment ?

But,….how can this be so ?

Ah mean, Cellic PLC sold yer souls to the establishment by taking the easy way out at the shame game by agreeing to an even split of the blame!

That turned oot wi Neil Lennon being blamed for the lot!!!!

They’re actions were rubber stamped in the PLC board room when they agreed to the OBAF ACT.

Yet, still to this day…..there are Cellic supporters peddling petitions against the establishment, for enforcing an ACT that was conceived by the kowtowing of Cellic PLC!!!???!!!!

Ah mean, protest against an establishment….

Then, give £millions to a Cellic PLC who sold yeez down the river….to that establishment!!!????!!!!

Ye know what,….this post is making ma hair grow in again !!!!

    Sumthin isny adding up !!!!

Oh and,….btw,….yeez will find out what is really going on at the club, when we visit ibrokes on hogmany.

Brendan will declare himself as the new, long awaited broom at the club by, doing a Mr Stein – telling his players to go out and ‘cuff’ the huns – to hell with civil unrest,….no mercy!!!!

Or, Brendan will be got at, and told to go easy on the huns for fear of – civil unrest….imho.

    …oot-tae-the-darkened-room-priest-oot-the-omen-etc…..

  3. BBC1 national news reporting there that…..

…”4,000 Celtic fans attended Manchester last night and, 30 ‘people’ were ejected out of the stadium and, 12 ‘people’ were arrested.”

    ….who are these ‘people’…..?

    ..off-oot-zzzzz….

  4. Happy Hoopy Birthday to Neustadt Braw’ from a verging on tropical Dundee!

    Alles Gute junge, und HH

  5. Good morning friends from a cloudy, damp, but extremely mild East Kilbride. Spring is in the air ;-)

  6. Good morning CQN from a dull, grey but balmy East Devon.

Great performance from the Bhoys last night.

    Hail! Hail!

  7. saltires en sevilla on

Good solid performance v citeh last night.

Great to see the movement off the ball and improveing possession ( although we must have given it straight back to citeh about 10 times coming out of defence to midfield.) it is still an improvement.

Also creating good openings and one on ones with their keeper!

A few of our bhoys need to learn to take a wee breath before directing shots. Too many getting a nosebleed at the crucial moment in big games.

That can be worked on and expect to see the difference in 2nd half of this season and qualifiers for next CL. Sumbdies getting a real tanking btw!!!

    Moussa needs a wee rest!!

Tam Rogic – what a joy to watch him play against real fitba players!

Craig very, very unlucky with that goal…

Erik & Jozo teaming up well.

Likeisay … a wee breath before taking that final shot and someone is getting seriously walloped, sometime soon!!

    Morning,all.

Just been reading back, pretty much a unity of purpose in the blog.

General satisfaction with our progress this season, and general agreement that Corry is a knob.

Delighted to take the points we did,and hopefully we can take a bigger step next season.

Word of The Day (Brendan Rodgers)

    Ameliorate /əˈmiːljəˌreɪt/

    verb

    1. to make or become better; improve

    Derived Forms

    ameliorable (əˈmiːljərəbə l) adjective

    ameliorant, noun

    ameliorative, adjective

    ameliorator, noun

    Usage note

Ameliorate is often wrongly used where alleviate is meant. Ameliorate is properly used to mean `improve’, not `make easier to bear’, so one should talk about alleviating pain or hardship, not ameliorating it

    Word Origin

C18: from meliorate, influenced by French améliorer to improve, from Old French ameillorer to make better, from meillor better, from Latin melior

Love how Apple can describe fires on iphone6 devices as a “thermal event”

Local temperature today in Renfrewshire iis 12 degrees … and ‘feels like’ 12 degrees!

Now that, my fellow Celts, is a proper ‘thermal event’!!!

Not to be confused with Mellorate,to make better by sucking toes while wearing a Chelsea strip…

  13. Delighted for Paddy last night. It was an outstanding performance from a young player under the circumstances. He can be very proud of himself this morning.

  14. Well done Celtic

    Good all round performance.

Some difference watching us in CL

    Pass, move and become available

And not a clugger in sight..

With each game we show learning and a wee bit improvement.its great.

    Intwresting post by Robert Tressell

Suggesting more scots have played in CL with us than English players in the 4

    qualifying teams down there.

    We are improving.

    Hail hail

    HAPPY HOOOOOOOOOOPY BIRTHDAY to

    MOONBEAMSWD and to NEUSTADT-BRAW!!!!!

Hope last night set you up for a celebration!

  17. Goooooooood Morning CQN – ain’t it great being a Bhoy :-)

Neustadt-Braw, have a braw Hoooooopy Birthday

MWD, you as well Bhud, have a great day

Time to go to work and smile at the horribles

  18. Incident, lay just to remind anyone who questions the team we played last night

That cost Man City £144 m to assemble the 12 players we completed against

    Hail Hail

  19. What’s your top 5 players you’d least want to lose, irrespective of the cash offered?

    1. Armstrong. I’ve serious man love for that guy.

    2. Sviatchenko

    3. Simunovic

    4. Tierney

    5. Moussa

Two things that strike me as of this morning. Firstly this list is hugely different to 12 weeks ago. Secondly, such is the overall rise in quality it is bloody hard picking a top 5!!

Broony not there? Whit? Forrest nearly made it! Who’s Scott Sinclair? Who on that list scored 40 last season?

I love Celtic, always have, always will. It’s chicken soup for the heart to feel it coming back right now.

  20. Happy birthday bhoys!

Best present you can get is waking up as a Celtic fan…..

….an some cake, aftershave and the latest Hoops gear :-)

  21. BLANTYREKEV on 7TH DECEMBER 2016 8:37

    Rogic

    Sviatchenko

    Tierney

    Griffiths

    Sinclair

  22. My 5 not to lose

    1. Tierney (his sub Izzy is talented enough but Kieran has now surpassed him).

    2. Sinclair (no-one plays the left side attack better than he does- both Forrest and GMS are less effective there.

    3. Scott Brown ( Stuart Armstrong has just played two very good games in a row- that is not anywhere near (yet) the vein of form that Broony has shown.

    4. Craig Gordon (De Vries has not impressed with his appearances so we would need to source a better keeper)

    5. Erik Sviatchenko (the guy that knits the defence together. If Kolo’s early season form does not return or he is planning to leave soon with a “job done” evaluation, then we need to hold on to our defensive cement).

Above all these 5, I’d keep Brendan Rodgers who has delivered improved player effort to this team. Whether they love him or fear him, the players are giving something extra that they did not give to Ronny in his 2nd season.

And that is worth a lot.

  23. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

Picking my five to keep is like picking my five greatest ever Celts.

Impossible-who would you leave out,and why?

To prove it,I agree with keeping everyone mentioned so far!

  24. cathedral view on

Great stuff from the hoops last night, this team can go places.

My morning perusal of the BBC has thrown up the following question,

Why is the top story on both the Celtic and Manchester City SPORTS pages from the BBC about a man that threw a hamburger somewhere in Manchester last night?

I thought there was enough action and excitement on the pitch last night to keep the scribes busy for days.

  25. RE: last night from a hooped manc at the game.

    1) Team is coming on great – will only improve. very happy.

    2) 99.9 of support superb. A few muppets around from both sides. It happens.

    3) City fans aren’t used to people coming and stiring it up on their patch. That showed with some. forget about it.

    3) 99.9% of city fans know nothing about the troubles, they don’t care. Need to stop some of those songs, it IS holding the club back.

    4) 67th minute – pure quality.

  26. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    CATHEDRALVIEW

I take your point but I’m quite happy with that headline.

A number of reasons, amongst which are showing the BBC for its small-minded pettiness, and the fact that it was ONE arrest-for plain daft boayishness!-rather than a barely-mentioned full-scale riot.

Who’s like us? Damn few,and I’m content for it to remain that way.
