My enjoyment of this match has only been spoiled by listening to a bunch of tossers singing “go on home British soldiers” . Probably sung by guys who have only seen a British soldier on posters in the window of their local TA centre. That’s really going to impress the locals and demonstrate how we are different from the mob that trashed their city.
Before anyone tries to defend them I grew up in the North during the war, I know what its like to have some scared squaddie point a high velocity weapon at you as you walk up the main street of your town, knowing if he twitches it could do real damage. A lot of brave men and women did more than sing about the British army and they have accepted the war is over why can’t these neds.
