Mariners confirm Rogic deal

963

Tomas Rogic’s club, Central Coast Mariners, formally announced they had agreed terms to transfer the player to Celtic a few hours ago.  The Australian attacking midfielder, who turned 20 last month, will require a work permit before the transfer is concluded, but should be a formality.

After having an extensive look at the player, Neil Lennon will think there is an excellent chance he will be a successful addition to the team, but it’s worth remembering that Victor Wanyama joined at the beginning of last season at the same age as Tomas and took six months before securing a regular starting place in the team.
[calameo code=000390171cc0c3617c8cc lang=en page=80 hidelinks=1 width=100% height=500] I have avoided all YouTube clips of the player (which are notoriously misleading) but by all accounts he is an excellent prospect, however, he will need our support and encouragement as he settles into life in Scotland – especially if he acclimatises to the Scottish game.

My dad worked in fairfields … Just knew it as ” the yards” think its gae now.

My mum ended up in sheltered housing… Right opposite the big yard gates on the corner of the park.

She passed away just over a year back .. She went full circle from broomloan rd in the 50s then back to elderpark st in the late 90s .

Fair play amigo. Such attitiudes are too common place even amongst those of us who should no better.

A good example is the anti-immigration policies of the States and Australia.

As my Australian cousin wisely pointed out to me (literally a rocket scientiest btw :))) – how can you emigrate to a country, decimate the indigenous population, and then winge about immigrants a few years later….

It is not that the discussions are irrelevant it is that they are going no where.

I entered the fray myself just as TSFM was making his point and I reckon my post was removed as well but whilst it made the point they were a new club no matter how erudite I think I may have made the point, it was not going to make any difference whatsoever to what TheRangers supporters and msm peddle as the truth..

The truth however is that club and company are the same in the football industry and this truth will out regardless of whether it is discussed on TSFM or not. The knots the game is tieing itself into to perpetuate the myth will be part of the myth’s unravelling and that unravelling will be more effective than any arguments made to deaf ears.

One of the issues the msm is avoiding is the loss of supporter trust in the SFA and this will be raised again soon but hopefull in a way that is heeded by msm and the SFA and not ignored in the same way the club/company debate is.

Seven years ago, A Celtic supporters club was set up in St Albans. Close enough for me to go in and watch the game with fellow Tims. It was a great club with our peak having a former chairman as our honourary chairman.

One of the things we did was to set up a 5 a side team. St Albans Celtic were born.

As happens with these things the club has whittled down to a just a few of us but St Albans Celtic have plugged away, done really well with a few runners up medals.

Tonight, after 7 years of trying St Albans Celtic won the league!

Just wanted to let you all be the first to know that Celtic are the champions 2013!!

What is it about the ole govanites that allows them to live so long, my ole mum is 92 , 93 next month, and Living in a retirement home in Johnstone.

  8. PF Ayr,

Re Shapps – he wasn’t half. Every single comment was dim-witted and displayed a total ignorance of what he was talking about. Gave up on watching this mince program some time ago, but got caught up in it tonight out of curiosity.

Talk about standards slipping even more. He had no interest in anything he was talking about, and an inability to discuss any point or even argue his own party’s points. The Tories have been slipping in stooges to that program when they can’t get Lib Dems to do it for them – damage limitation, but sadly, basic politics that will probably work for them in the long run. Labour in the meantime following the road of the Democrats in the States, trying to to say little that will offend the loony right wing xenophobes, hence the prevalent silence.

Meantime up here, we have an out in the form of Salmond, who has gleefully placed Strathies finest into the position of his personal praetorian guard to keep us left wing marxist Tims in our place.

Miki67 has been saying it for some time and I agree, things are now moving onto the next stage from Thatcherism and getting much worse. The adulation the UKIP nutter enjoyed says it all.

  10. Any truth in the rumour that UEFA – (that’s how you spell it) – have taken over the whole South Stand for the Juve game?

This from a season ticket holder who, has been moved next to the GB with his Grandson.

This never happened before as he sits at the back of the South Stand.

    I cannot stand Farage.

Sadly xenophobia is on the rise and the UK is only going to get worse.

There will be a forced referendum on the UK with plenty of whipped up jingoism and anti-European tripe.

As someone who lives in the EU I have only one more year to stay here and then I can have my permanent residence. I cannot wait and if I want I can go on the path to Slovak citizenship/dual nationality I can.

Folk like Farage are dangerous. People call them the BNP in suits and I’ve heard nothing to convince me otherwise.

  15. FFM,

For all the yanks take criticism for ( some rightly others wrongly ) my visit to Ellis Island in 2010 was an xtremely enlightening moment for me.

How the Americans embrace immigration is heartwarming and enlightening, as a reflection of how people should be accepted for what they can bring to the table and how they can enhance life in a country as human beings, not labelled generically as a threatening race.

  16. Snake,

Well done sir on the forthcoming permanent residence. Good on you.

Hope you’re keeping well by the way? :))

Re your comment, “Folk like Farage are dangerous. People call them the BNP in suits and I’ve heard nothing to convince me otherwise.” – right wing thinking is seems to be pushed more to the extreme during these “recessions”. I think a big part of that is to encourage division in society to prevent solidarity. Better we are angry at each other than at the few who continue to get richer at the expense of the rest of us, wherever we are from.

Aye, divide and conquer is still very much a part of western politics, if not more than ever >:((

  19. Auldheid,

For me, hearing and reading the MSM doublethink has caused me to shout at the radio, so that now I simply don’t listen to them. Haven’t read the papers for years I am slightly ashamed to say.

I think you are a firm believer that things will stabilise themselves/reach their correct or true state in the natural course of things. I do too, however I think there’s a lot of dams being built and river courses being changed to delay that as much as possible

The discussion on TSFM wasn’t progressing as it seemed that some posters had a way of thinking that just couldn’t comprehend why Rangers were so disliked and why their club’s attitude was so alienating to fans of other clubs.

I also feel that if the “anomaly” isn’t questioned then my/our silence will be taken as acceptance.

  20. I mentioned earlier about a fanzone for fans that couldnt get tickets for the Juventus match and poss pay for some tent area.Would Celtic not consider hiring the Velodrome across the street and doing a beam back.Charge a small fee to cover costs etc

I’m saving for a house (a flat more likely as I don’t like gardening). I made a life decision to stay here. I have little reason for returning home at the moment and I don’t think that will change any time soon.

Hard times bring out these views as you say and it is the perfect feeding ground for the likes of Farage.

I think there is a lot of damage that can be done by that UKIP mob.

  24. estorilbhoy @ 23:56

Very good point amigo. If the Yanks stay true to their idea of the American Dream, they do indeed welcome people wanting to make a new life for themself.

I should qualify what I said by pointing out I refer to the govt, establishment, and media – not the people of ANY country. The rest of Europe sees the UK the same as we see the States – but we know the loony xenophobes are a minority here.

Mind the Tories only got in here on a 33% vote ! :))
