MARSEILLE WATCH GUIDETTI

Marseille are keeping a close watch on Celtic’s on-loan striker John Guidetti.

Guidetti is half way through his season-long at Celtic from Manchester City. His contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of the season and Celtic, after initial enthusiasm have not signed the player. It appears that the player too is prepared to wait to see what other opportunities come his way with Southampton and now French giants Marseille being linked with the Swede.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila was impressed by the impact Guidetti had when he first broke into his Celtic team and wanted to sign the player on a permanent basis. But the Norwegian has been left frustrated at Guidetti’s reluctance to commit to the club. Guidetti has also been relegated to the bench in recent matches as his goalscoring draught continues.

Guidetti has stated that he would like to score a hat-trick against the new Rangers in the League Cup semi final this weekend and with Ronny Deila hinting that the Swede could be given the nod to play upfront alongside Leigh Griffiths, it looks like Celtic are going all out for a comprehensive victory against their championship rivals.
