RUSSELL MARTIN has been sacked – after only 123 days as manager at Ibrox.
Pressure intensified on the beleaguered gaffer after the side’s 1-1 draw at Falkirk yesterday, leaving him with only five wins from 17 games in all competitions.
Martin signed a three-year deal with the Govan outfit in June six months after being dismissed by Southampton who were eventually relegated from the English top flight.
The one-time Scotland international defender is now the shortest serving permanent team boss in the club’s history.

THE ONE AND ONLY…Russell Martin watches Benjamin Nygren and Mo Diomande challenge for the ball in the 0-0 draw in August, his solitary derby encounter.
Martin has been the target for the Ibrox boo boys for weeks, but the new American owners refused to take action, but they had a dramatic change of mind after the stalemate against John McGlynn’s newly-promoted side.
There were ugly scenes after the match when ultras surrounded the team bus and Martin had to be given a police escort to leave the stadium.
The players were also on the receiving end of the fury as they emerged to board the bus.
Now the guessing game will begin to the identity of his successor. Former Everton boss Sean Dyche is already among the favourites.
Ex-boss Steven Gerrard and former player Kevin Muscat, currently in charge of Shanghai Port, have also been mentioned.
The Ibrox club are languishing eighth in the Premiership table with eight points after seven games. Their only win came against Livingston last weekend with a stoppage-time strike.
