MARTIN O’NEILL watched Preston draw 1-1 with Queens Park Rangers at Deepdale – just 24 hours after leading Celtic to their crucial 2-1 win over Dundee at Dens Park.
The Hoops interim boss was accompanied by backroom boy Mark Fotheringham as he took in the second-tier action.
O’Neill is poised to quit his current role at the end of the season with the champions seeking a permanent replacement, but has admitted he remains open to the possibility of staying on in some capacity.
It appears the 74-year-old Irishman, in his second stint in the caretaker post after replacing Brendan Rodgers in late October and then Wilfried Nancy in early January, is already assisting in the much-needed rebuild of the squad for the next campaign.

IT’S GOOD TO TALK…Mark Fotheringham and skipper Callum McGregor have a discussion at Dens Park before Celtic’s 2-1 win on Sunday.
O’Neill and Fotheringham remained silent about any potential targets, but local media reported three players who may have been of particular interest.
It was suggested the Parkhead duo could have been looking at midfielder Alfie Devine, who has impressed at North End after arriving in a loan deal from Spurs.
Team-mate Lewis Dobbin, on a temporary transfer from Aston Villa, has also caught the eye in the forward line.
Milutin Osmajic completed the trio and is in focus for a few teams following his eight goals in 23 Championship appearances this time out.
The Montenegro striker has just one year left on his deal at Preston and could be available for a cut-price fee in the summer.
