CALLUM McGREGOR played through the pain barrier as he lasted 72 minutes in the crucial 1-0 Premiership win over St Mirren at Parkhead yesterday.
Martin O’Neill revealed the champions’ onfield leader was carrying an injury, but was still determined to play his part in the Hoops’ pursuit of their fifth successive title.
And the interim boss hopes the influential midfielder will be okay when the clubs meet again in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden a week today.
O’Neill said: “Callum had a bit of a problem during the week, but wanted to play.
“I’m absolutely delighted that he got through as much as he did, we need him.”
