Darwin’s ‘survival of the fittest’ quote doesn’t actually mention the fittest:

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.”

Being able and prepared to rapidly abandon your ways to thrive in a new reality is a lesson many of us learn.

Ange Postecoglou changed his ways during last season, but not before he became a caricature of intransigence. Tottenham’s faults were not all his, but he owned this particular fragility.  Spurs because Darwinism in action.

Celtic seem to re-employ managers on a predictable loop. So he might be back. He’ll be a better manager for his EPL lessons.  I’d take him in a heartbeat.

Still knows how to get the comments going :-)

I would prefer Brendan to stay for as long as Brendan wants .. but got a feeling he will do his 3 years (as he said when he came back) then depart on better terms than the last time :-)

After that … who knows … in all my Celtic supporting life 70’s to now … I think we have had terrific managers and a hope that continues with either Brendan or the next manager lucky enough to get the gig 🍀

  2. Evening all.

I loved Ange, it felt like as many posted, getting dumped by your partner.

P67, for what ever reason appears to have an issue with Brendan Rodgers and that’s his right to have an opinion.

For me, although Brendan has been Brendan since he returned, I don’t believe Ange will be heading here soon and I believe that’s right.

A wee tune to that effect.

  4. From Sentinel Celts

    Awe Naw

I saw St. Stivs on the blog today. Welcome. A name I haven’t seen since my ole CQN days. Curiousity got the better of me and I had my first wee peek at CQN since a while.

Deary me. Very sad but highly revealing.

Technophobia is going to be a massive problem with the club going forward. It exhibits itself here on SC also.

I should point out that the Sentinelcelt web page uses one tracker. There are good and bad trackers. A tracker as the name suggests is a little program that monitors, collects, and analyzes user behavior and data while they browse the internet.

Sentinelcelts uses a good tracker. It is used to detect any updates you make on the blog. It’s fundamentally necessary for blogging.

CQN uses 39 trackers of which 4 are good. The other 35 are bad trackers.

    They are third party trackers.

This is how they are used.

Advertising: To target users with personalized ads (based on past behavior).

Analytics: To help website owners understand user behavior and improve services.

Retargeting: Showing ads to users who have already visited a site.

User experience: Remembering user preferences or login status.

    Privacy Concerns

    Internet trackers can:

Build detailed profiles of individuals without explicit consent.

Track users across multiple sites (cross-site tracking).

Lead to loss of anonymity and exposure to data breaches.

So as a good tim it’s a little worrying for me to me to read post after post on CQN from tim technophobes worrying that using a smartphone will expose them to such behavior when they are already doing so.

Betting sites and porno sites are right up there with CQN in there proliferation.

Thankfully they are all devout Catholics on CQN and would never visit such sites and have no need to worry.

I wonder if they ever get a wee internet surprise when these trackers make a correlation and they think they are being watched and blame it on the technology they are using rather than on their use of CQN.

Please take this post in the way it is intended. To inform and protect

Maybe BMCUWP can create a permanent thread where any tims with concerns can ask technical questions and I’ll (we’ll) provide them with free support to allay some but not all concerns. Then you are free to choose.

Dont have a problem with celtic spending money on infustructure work I.e, Lennoxtown, barrowfield and in and around the stadium. If the club figure improvements to the corporate boxes will led to greater revenue then so be it. They previously added a sensory rooms and elevated platform seating for disabled people at great expense and a worthy cause.

Could the club do more inside the stadium for the regular punters? Off the top of my head:

    hot running water

    heating in the concourse

    Better WiFi

    Clearer sound system

    food outlets with more options

fixed wall benches to take a wee seat if you like.

swap out the wooden damaged food couter areas with more durable plastic modern versions

Give inside stadium more interesting features I.e., muruels of the great teams, players, fans, moments etc…

Another large standing area or 2 would not go amiss.

Outside the stadium there is lots of work that could be done in terms of infustructure:

pushing ahead with plans for hotel, museum, superstore, ticket office, restaurant, cafe etc. The current facilities are very dated and an eyesore.

Creating a pedestrian zone around the stadium (similiar pathing as front of stadium, benches, seating areas, pop up food outlets, fanzones, screens not visible to traffic (reason previously screem planed for clover not agreed by gcc)

Landscaping the surrounding area (add shrubs and treelines at car parks to soften the look of parking areas. On that actually tarmac all the carparking areas. Make the place look more appealing and friendly on the eye.

Improve celtic television (add youth and b team games, more programmes etc)

Getting all that work done would likely cost the thick end of £40 million and would likely need to be done in phases to reduce disruption but entirely possible, within financial reach and puts supporters experiece and growth at forefront of agenda.

  8. An Tearman,

    Re yer friend who died.

Was at my mate’s wife’s 70 birthday party today.

Hadn’t seen him in years and, the first thing he said, was that his cousin who ran the Carnwadric CSC had died. BTW, every week, he would regale me with who died who was born, who was now in jail etc, family history.

Then, I remembered the name Cusack and, my mate said there are hundreds of them around Glasgow. This wasn’t meant as derogatory BTW.

    May yer pal RIP.

How much did you win in total?

    ……………………

By my arithmetic I got back just over £293.00 from the Bookies.

I had ALSO bet Epsom Placepots for £2 and £1 Stakes, but they were beaten.

The PLACEPOT Bet that came UP was for a Total Stake of £1.60.

10 PENCE PERMED UNITS, and I managed to get ONE Horse placed in each of the Six Races, but obviously as my stake was only for £1.60 ( 10 Units), thats why I got back £73.00 for ONE 10 Pence Line coming up.

  15. NATIONS LEAGUE on TV Tonight.

PORTUGAL v SPAIN is on ITV at 7.30pm.

GERMANY v FRANCE is on PRIME TV…with a 2pm kick aff Today. You MAY have to pay £2.49 to watch that game ( I think ?)

It was SO BAD, that I switched channels to watch a Film made in 1966 and classed as a ” HORROR WESTERN” …. The NAME of the Movie was ” BILLY THE KID V DRACULA”…..

    I kid ye NOT ?

This Movie was ALMOST as bad as the Andorra v England game.

  17. TOP TRAINER AIDEN O’BRIEN Won the DERBY yesterday with one of his THREE Horses in the Race.

It was called ” LAMBOURN” and its was the ” OUTSIDER” of his Three Horses and won at 13/2. ( Slightly better odds were available early yesterday 8/1 etc ).

However in the FIRST Race at NAVAN yesterday, AIDEN had the Favourite at odds ON at 8/13, but he also had a NEWCOMER ( Unraced) in the Race which was around 20/1 early morn.

AIDENS Newcomer was called ” WARSAW” and it Won at odds of 18/1…very easily, with the ODDS ON Favourite only in 3rd Place.

Guess who backed ” WARSAW” at 18/1 ?

    Okay…it was ME !

    LOL…YA DANCER !

This young horse won in some style, could be one to note for future Races.

I watched the Andorra – Engerlund game …..in the hope the Andorrans would snatch a draw. Some excuses in defence of the english ie long season for players, sweltering conditions and a stubborn defensive display by a side ranked 173 in FIFA rating list.Drab, boring and dull would best describe this encounter.
