Material weight on Celtic

201

The postponement of last night’s game at Pittodrie means Celtic will have at least four games more than Hearts before the post-split Scottish Premiership fixtures being in April.  If they reach the Scottish Cup semi-final, it will be six more.  If Celtic progress through another two round of the Europa League, that figure would grow to 10 more games before the split.  That is a material difference.

Newco are out of Europe and therefore have two fewer games on their roster, with a cup game against lower-league opponents, whereas Celtic face Dundee in the cup on Saturday.  The next 10 weeks will exhaust the players physically and mentally; Martin O’Neill will need all his experience and his entire squad to keep momentum rolling.

Winning this league would be a huge achievement, one of the biggest this century and an ominous sign to others.

    BADA

Seems reasonable ,with only 3 changes allowed in EL squad we need to be certain that all 3 are right.

Like I say, if you think for one minute that the Lawyers were not involved you don’t have a clue how these things work.

If you are as rich and successful as you try to make out you would be very awate of this – and be in touch with your Lawyers to protect your position.

    EKBhoy obviously didn’t know it…

When I need a Lawyer a cloae associate who (not a Lawyer) has worked in Chambers in London for forty years.

I don’t say put me in touch with that Lawywr you put me in touch with – no.

He’ll ask what the issue is, he’ll advise on a specialist Solicitor or Barrister as necessary.

Brendan Rodgers used Nick De Marco for hia beef with the SFA ’cause he is the best…

He took a gun to a knife fight.

Since being emptied, with two months BR got a top job, two of Celtic’s ex-staff joined him, Driscoll became an indepent consultant and Adan Sadler went back to Leicester City

All professional, all dignified, all in clover…

    Hail Hail

  3. Glen D- given his injuries, a deal to end of the season, possibly with a year option is best i would offer him.

  4. Celtic chairman Wilson was a confederate of Mandelson in the New Labour cult.

A bigger bunch of chancers charlatans chanty wrasslers and liars you couldn’t hope to meet.

Have they found those weapons of mass destruction yet?

    He Ave He Ave!

  5. I am pleased the interim chairman Brian Wilson has reached out to The Collective.

I hope a temporary truce for the run in can be achieved as we all want the same thing — to win the league.

Brian Wilson talks about bringing back the noise (from earlier poster) however the real reason will be financial.

Not another Penny is working big time and the club is concerned. If the league is lost the remaining spend will reduce to a trickle. On top of that a boycott may or not be successful on Saturday, however if the league is lost the boycott will be for the remaining league games. Only the main stand will need to be open to accommodate the “crowd”.

The number of people I know who have stopped spending at Celtic is huge and they now detest the Board. The club is playing with fire and they know they have lost the argument – as does our host (he should let his mate know).

With the vast majority of the stadium singing stand up if you hate the board the message is crystal clear – the support have put the Board on notice. The supports withholding of cash will win the day. Sponsors will also think twice of investing in a club with a spiteful board — it won’t take fans long to pull the lever with sponsors to apply pressure as well. I heard Magners were already unhappy with the clubs unwillingness to resolve the situation.

In short the Board have to see off a potential crisis. It is a huge risk to allow the open wound to fester and put a title at risk. I don’t think we will win the title if we don’t have unity. If we lose the title with the current situation season tickets will be at risk as it will be a full blown rebellion.

The club will go into financial crisis and the cash mountain will quickly disappear.

Lifting the bans and allowing fan media must happen, equally the fans need to reciprocate and do their part. Then we are favourites— although Sevco’s joker needs to be removed from the fray. Celtic need to put the SFA on notice about this character and match fixing.

When the dust settles one thing is for sure our invisible, divisive CEO mush go. P45 too for his copper mate who has been targeting fans. This is non negotiable as we can’t have a CEO who has overseen this disastrous situation play out hiding in his bunker. It doesn’t matter who is right or wrong — he is the CEO and has shown zero leadership.

    Keep the Faith !

  6. Peter/Paul’s vaunted signing model looks well-consigned to the WPB.

Let’s just hope signing the Ox doesn’t make our Martin look like an Ass.

Woof, better second half from Ireland, but the speed with which France move the ball was unbelievable.

If Brian Wilson is indeed planning to meet the collective … that is a welcome first step.

    Polite suggestions to each side.

    Engage in the proper spirit.

Collective – don’t take any recording devices

Brian – as an ex politician you are used to being heckled and still choosing your words carefully.

Go have a chat, take a couple of pals with you for hauners … but give the club lawyer and stenographer the night off.

    ====================

Here is the link to the Brian Wilson interview. It was good to hear him make reference to communication with the wider support.

    https://www.celticfc.com/news/2026/february/05/celtic-interim-chairman-brian-wilson-speaks-to-celtic-tv/

I hope it will be on the Celtic app to reach them as part of an effort to improve communications and give those supporters at a distance a voice.

With regard to your advice I will repeat what I said in a previous blog about dialogue.

There is no one around any table in a position to cast judgement on others for the beliefs they hold. They are held as a result of life experience. That has to be respected.

The meetings are an opportunity for true dialogue to begin.

Dialogue requires trust and a readiness to leave grievances at the door of the room.

Here is a link to what dialogue requires.

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/0B62m3ggkEX2RYXc5al9EaEktaUE/edit?usp=drivesdk&ouid=107947982974245186134&resourcekey=0-Hkq7qXQjeB6STBifxjkJmg&rtpof=true&sd=true

Third Commandment. No trust. No dialogue and no point entering the room.

The Collective have asked for dialogue so will all those in the Collective with different views enter the room in that spirit? I sincerely hope so.

To be clear Brian Wilson needs to be in the room in the same spirit, dialogue is not a one way process.

It would be a great shame if those who profess a desire for unity do not seize the opportunity to engage in the a spirit of trust that dialogue requires..

Dialogue. Greek Dia “through” Logos “words”

  10. Had another look @ the Celtic Fans Collective self-styled Q&A

Q “How do you respond when your Celtic supporting kids ask, what time is the CSC bus leaving for the Dundee game, will we have time to go to the Celtic Store, and will we get a Pizza before the game?”

A “Sack the board, sack the board, sack the board…..”

  11. attended 1 single rugby match

was co-erced into going cos thistle fan I had drank all night with wouldnt wake up

i was offered his ticket – thought it would be impolite no to go

    france v scotland – paris 2001

what a shyte game and freezin

less than zero in common with any of the scottish rugby fans

should have gone to bed instead

  12. Thought Brian Wilson spoke well and came across with integrity. Seek first to understand before being understood. Dialogue with various supporters groups will hopefully help both sides understand their needs and goals.

The GB should only be allowed back if they adhere to Celtic policies. It’s their last chance to grow up and focus on football matches ( many times their songs don’t relate to what’s going on pitch side)

Wish he’d came out a month ago but he was busy in the market and bringing back MON.

  13. Hey at least Brian Wilson can’t be accused of being a Tory , oops forgot he’ll be a Red Tory.

Credit to Ireland for sticking to it.

Love the way the French play though.

I really hope they beat England this season.

Where exactly has blogger GM suggested he is clever on the blog.

He just highlighted where you were talking utter crap and making more stuff up about your hero.
