McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

  1. Delahunt’s quite sharp sometimes.

‘That succulent lamb quote I’ve heard it a hundred times. Does it refer to Graham Spiers’?

  2. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

“For every five times the sale price of Rangers Celtic spend we will … no that can’t be right.”

    Hail Hail

  3. Good points from Sammy. Left them silent for most of it, which in the case of Gordon Dalziel is a godsend.

Apart from his lack of partiality, intelligence, football knowledge, and a human speaking voice, he’s a brilliant pundit.

  4. Radio Clyde two nights and a Sunday OT panel of responding to the recent caller as they are totally inept in these matters.Delaying is like a wee school prefect.

  5. delahunt obviously logged into KDS. he is reacting to posts on the phone in thread. he jumped in about Sean/Tommy and succulent lamb references afer they had appeared there.

we`re in pole position …..we should bring our influence to bear upon them now

  7. Delahunt is a total nae-brain when it comes to footlball, or tying shoelaces. Paul Murray ‘ they’ve (fans) have spent three seasons talking about HMRC, tax’ utter pish!!

Rangers fans have ignored this situation, backed the swivel-eyed gormless nerk and backed the weightwatcher!

Neil Lennon has said on SSN that he doesn’t think Celtic need the huns (there’s a clip of it on KDS).

How about the Board coming out and backing the manager on this?

could you post a link to this please m8

Possibly those within CFC have seen today’s press conference to test the water. Let’s hope so.

  10. Been a very busy day, but am I right in saying amadeus was right and there will be another major story on rangers this weekend.

I think philmac has also mentioned something.

Just wanted to pop on to endorse our manager’s statement regarding the huns:

“I’m not in the camp who believe the SPL, or Celtic, need a strong Rangers, I’d be quite happy if we were a lot stronger than Rangers.

A lot of people think Celtic and Rangers need each other. Well, at the minute, we don’t.

We’re in a strong position financially with good young players coming through, but we’ve had to work hard and be patient for that”

    Too bl**dy right Neil;

    LET ‘EM DIE!

Would that be the same David Taylor who used to ensure that, Rankers got an easy draw when he worked at UEFA ?

The wee tax case dates 15 years or so back??

Or perhaps he’s meaning Murray’s utter lunacy began 15 years ago, although I’m sure it was 24??

    either way, they’re friar’ed :-)

  14. Keevins: ask the other 11 members of the SPL if they should be re-admitted, if they come back as new company you can’t impose a penalty,

Stevie is tearing the nasally git a new one!

The Celtic Underground podcast seemed to suggest that other clubs were unwilling to allow the manky tax dodgers back in the SPL as a newco.

    Let’s hope they are right.

  16. So this is the grand finale

    The crescendo of demise

    This is the happy ending

Where the bad guy goes down and dies….

Right, back to perma – lurking for me!

  17. Just nipping in to fix the page width.

JonnyRambo67, no problem at all with you posting the song but could you use the link creator? You’re stretching the page every time.

KevJungle, just noticed almost 50% of all the comments I deleted last month were yours. The unbroken lines make it very difficult for mobile users.

  18. There’s no provision in the SPL Articles of Association requiring penalties being imposed on a new entrant.

Any such penalty would be entirely discretionary.

And there’s no provision for transfering a share certificate on condition that a club accepts a penalty.

In any case if the SPL’s position is that they need a newco huns to survive the newco huns have the SPL by the short and curlies and can tell them to stuff their penalty.

There’s more sense in the endless adverts on Clyde than from the “alleged” pundits on the actual Clyde Superscoreboard itself.

Pedlars of hunguffery are known collectively as Hunguffragettes or sometimes simply “guffragettes”

I also understand from a media mole that they intend to chain themselves to the railings of Buckingham palace or to throw themselves in front of the Queen mothers horse if Newco aren’t allowed straight back in to the SPL.

  21. Here’s the question: If I have a company called BoB and it goes out of business, why should I be allowed to not pay bills and come back as BoB2? No liability, no money to Tax, no money to previous debtors.

Hugh, appoint an administrator you lose ten points

liquidate, you don’t exist any more!!!

Jim Delahunt is a Tim. He has a job to do on Clyde. I think he is secretly delighted at RFC’s current travails. He has been making little snipes all week. I think when he asked about succulent lamb tonight he knew full well that it was Traynor who said it and that is why he posed the question to the caller. It served to highlight it to the Orcs. He also raised the point of Sandaza perhaps having been tapped up by RFC and has been generally mischief making for the last few days.
