CELTIC completed a trio of deadline-day deals when they signed Dundee skipper Luke McCowan in a £1million move.
The 26-year-old midfielder rounded off a busy day as the champions spent a record £11million on Belgian playmaker Arne Engels from Bundesliga outfit Augsburg and £6million on Sheffield United centre-back Euston Trusty.
Hibs failed in FOUR bids for the Dens Park dynamo before the Hoops stepped in with their seven-figure offer which was accepted by the Edinburgh club.
McCowan penned a three-year deal after passing his medical and could be involved in Brendan Rodgers’ squad for the Glasgow derby at Parkhead on Sunday.
The Hoops boss, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “We are really happy to welcome Luke to Celtic.
“He is a player with great ability, energy and commitment and we are sure he will be a very positive addition to our squad.”
McCowan arrived at the same time Japanese international Tomoki Iwata was agreeing a permanent switch to English third-tier club Birmingham City, managed by Rodgers’ former Hoops right-hand man Chris Davies.
