Friendly games are all about building match sharpness while hopefully avoiding injury. Celtic were given an excellent opportunity to shape up against Real Madrid last night but a suspected broken jaw to Dylan McGeouch who was knocked unconscious will set the player back several weeks.
Henrik Larsson spectacularly returned to action after a double jaw break after three weeks in 2003, scoring with a header within minutes although he walked off the field after his injury without additional complications. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and hope to see him in Champions League action next month.

Good points from all of you guys, I wouldn’t say no to Mackay(sp) Stevens or Russell.
Weefra HH
Re Dillon, does Lustig not need a hip operation? Would make sense to have cover for Matthews who is taller and er, cheap.
Sad for wee Dylan – hope to see him bounce straight back.
Still, carried off injured against Real Madrid has a ring to it – there are those who might only ever have stories of lower league encounters………
I was checking on Sevgers, who appear to have quickly found their feet, and their level, mid-table Div3.

Get your trousers on. You’re nicked.
Win against Ross and his County, go top of the league.
From FF:
“I must have been very near to where the OP was yesterday and the crowd at the back of us were unreal. Sandaza was abused by them for blessing himself and Broadfoot was given dogs abuse as well. One guy tried to ask them to support the team and stop abusing the players but he was shouted down by around 4 of them.
They then started to sing a song about Scott Browns sister and Tommy Burns ******** each other in hell.”
How can any decent person have anything whatsoever to do with that mob?
I saw Quasimodo in crowd at Peterheid.
3 to go and it’s a 6 point game. Vamos.
Monaghan
Gonnae no post stuff like that?

Good to know my posting of the statements is appreciated.
Agree that reading these is very emotional and interesting. It was an exceptional decision by the Irish government of the time to gather these very personal statements from those still alive to relate their experiences and stories…………….
It certainly was, and shows fantastic foresight on the part of the decision maker(s) to log and file said statements.
My maternal grandfather used to regale us with stories of how he was able to ‘carry out missions’ as he was ‘nondescript’ because thousands of documents, i.e. birth certificates etc., were lost/destroyed in 1922 in the fire at the Public Record Office, Dublin. And how such loss of identifiable birthright, what it meant at the time, and how it impacted on many of the people of Garngad, Glasgow, resulting in them ‘being lifted for whatever’ by the local constabulary as and when………..
More on that but maybe for another time………….

I suppose that’s what happens when you have no history to sing about.

We do not need to see this on this wonderful site, we all already know what some of them are capable of.

Naw- that was his wee sister Mary Modo fae Shettleston.
The only SPL defender I would consider is Ryan McGowan of Hearts. Big, strong and versatile, can play anywhere along the back line or in midfield. Him and Johnny Russell are the only two in SPL who would enhance our current squad (Mackay Stevens is a very good player but we have better from our youth ranks)
WeefratheTim-Hope that is only a rumour, totally average SPL player.
Kayal33
Spot on. Ryan wd be a great asset for Celtic. Was M O M in the cup final for me.
Speedy recovery Dylan
Dillon from DU……Jesus wept …is this where we are …
We need a CD and CF ASAP…our forward line looks hopeless and Rogne , whilst a good player , has an appalling injury record

Wen watching the hun game yesterday I’m sure I saw Sean connery in the crowd.can anyone confirm?:))
There was certainly Pussies Galore that’s for sure…and even Chuckles Green: as Chronic BrownFinger. The main antagonist. An ersatz man of means obsessed with bull****.
Kayak
McGowan has always struck me as being a Hun
I have seen him playing a few times and he always appears to me as a player who tried extra hard against us
Bloke 109
How no??
ElDiegoBhoy.
Yes of course it was the Sweeney. Thanks to John Thaw I managed to get a career and managed to work in the Glesga Sweeney and locked up a few huns.

Rubicon – re your quest for books about the Spanish Civil War.
No sure if this has been mentioned but “An Anarchist’s Story – The Life of Ethel Macdonald” by Chris Dolan is well worth a read. Ethel, a working-class girl from Motherwell became one of the world’s most famous voices.
I was lucky enough to hear Chris speaking about his book at the Edinburgh Book Festival in 2009 at the same event when Daniel Gray launched his “Homage to Caledonia”. Both were passionate about their subject and I rushed off to buy their books.
Both are definitely worth a read.

It seems a lot of their former players do not want to get cup-tied in the Ramsden Trophy, which is understandable when you think about it, limits their opportunities to walk away.
Interesting to read that Peterhead had remove their hun pics out of their boardroom when Celtic went up there last year for the cup tie!!

I appreciate your view and largely agree with it. The reason for posting it is to make people aware of exactly the sort of institution that the establishment is hell bent on preserving and promoting. It’s unpalatable stuff in the extreme but I don’t see that ignoring it helps. There must also have been police officers at that game. Is this not the sort of behaviour which falls foul of the provisions of recently enacted legislation on offensive behaviour? In my view it’s a clear breach of the peace at common law yet ignored by the authorities and MSM. Don’t tell me they didn’t hear it.
