McGINN: ‘HOOPS MAY BE TOO LATE,’ LENNON

0

NEIL LENNON reckons Celtic could miss out on John McGinn, despite their renewed interest in the Scotland midfielder.

The Hoops are reported to have matched Aston Villa’s £2.75million offer for the 23-year-old, but the Hibs boss believes the Championship side are in pole position to land the player.

McGinn spent yesterday in talks with the Midlands outfit and manager Steve Bruce gave him a tour of the club.

The champions, who have had three bids rejected for the Celtic fan, have made another move, but former Parkhead gaffer Lennon thinks it might be too late.

He said: “John went down to Birmingham, I think he is having a medical there.

“A fee has been agreed. I don’t know if personal terms have been agreed yet.

“I think Celtic have matched the offer, but I think Villa are in the driving position at the minute.”
