FORMER Hearts and Livingston boss John McGlynn has been appointed first team scout at Celtic.
He succeeds Peter Houston, who left the post in the summer to take charge of Falkirk.
McGlynn was dispatched to mainland Europe at the weekend to cast his eye over potential recruits.
The 53-year-old left Livingston by mutual consent last month after 15 months in the job.
Despite also leading Hearts to the 2013 League Cup Final, McGlynn lost his job at Tynecastle in February that year after eight months in the post.
McGlynn also has a spell at Raith Rovers in 2006.
