The annual raft of idle speculation unsettling Celtic’s playing and managerial resources is well underway. One newspaper headline today proclaimed, “Celtic boss wants Canaries to approach him”, based on Neil Lennon when talking about moving to England saying, “There has been no offer, there has been no concrete phone call or anything like that, so I haven’t really had a decision to make on it”. Countless others have followed in a similar theme.
Neil Lennon has not really hidden the fact that he would like to manage in the FA Premier League one day, but none of the journos with pages to fill have any notion on his thoughts of dropping a division in England. In the real world, Neil is showing no reticence in pursuing team development plans for next season. We’ll be involved in Champions League football two months from tomorrow, the manager is busy on the matters in hand.
Best wishes to John Brown for his inspired attempts to take down Newco Rangers. More power to you, John, I hope you have any many lemmings lined up as possible. Some months ago the plotters had a notion that they would starve Newco shareholders into handing over the club for zilch, or £1 less than Rangers were sold to a liquidation expert for. It remains possible that Sevco will starve, but notions that there will be an outcome for the plotters which is more desirable than an existence under the current crew are fading by the day.
Don’t forget, we’ve Tommy Gemmell, live on the blog, on Friday between 13:00 and 16:00. He’ll be here to chat and answer your questions.

It’s a great compliment and shows how highly he thought of him.
Not sure if I heard correctly, but on itv4 before the Europa final they said that Uefa were going to change the rule where when a player who is fouled and goes down injured and has to leave the field , the player who fouled him also has to go off.
My first thought was if I was a player and Lionel Messi fouls me I would take ages to come back on.
If it was a keeper then I would stay off
kingsnake,
Totally agree ref Man City. If we had similar exposure with a quarter of their money our aspirations in footballing terms would be almost limitless.
We have a base line support throughout the world that is the envy of most. Nothing that Sky and BT sport are not acutely aware of.

Those two were on after snippets of oldco training with one ugly mofo Kylie Bartlett in the crosshairs

To be honest I move around a lot.
I’ve lived in a few places. I like Zilina the best.
As for the Slivovice they can keep it.
I stick to the Whisky.
My friends drink local manky brandy because it is so cheap and they have the cheek to talk about Scottish folk.
Think mcclair was studying chemistry at glasgow uni

His middle name is also “Billy” but if he was our boss it wouldn’t bother me one bit who he used to play for or support as child for that matter, as long as he did his best for us would be good enough for me mate.

I heard a similar thing from the wee guy who used to do the tours at Celtic Park.
I have yet to see Fat Piemans name mentioned or indeed in any bookmakers list of odds for any of the vacant managerial posts in England yet Neil is mentioned in all.Wonder why ?
McClair studied mathematics. As did I for a while prior to being mutually consented.
I see the usual suspects are back on with their anti PL and John Park stand on how we missed out on Finnbogason, mibbees NL didnae want him either.
His records at Heerenveen and at Helsingborg are very impressive but prior to that at Lokeren he only scored 4 goals in 22 appearances.
After a successful career in Iceland he had trials with both Blackpool and Genk who both passed on him and his international record is only 4 goals in 21 games.
Our wee Teemu who isnae really a striker has scored 6 in 29 appearances for Finland.
AF does have a pretty impressive record in Sweden and Holland but not in Belgium. No different from Harald Brattbakk who in 3 spells with Rosenberg managed 153 goals in 223 appearances and had very good stats at Bodo/Glimt and FC Kopenhavn and yet is perceived a flop at Celtic. In fact Morten Rasmussen was also a prolific striker in Denmark but didnae make it with us.
Some players are suited to certain countries and lifestyles. AF is a Hibbee but so is wee Leigh and I know who I would prefer in our side.
Snake,
The FC Zilina stadium is something to be seen – seems like a very complicated scaffolding.
I agree with you on the local spirits. Some of the home brew from the East still haunts me.
Dovi.
McClairNo1,
Brian was indeed a clever bhoy. He studied mathematics. Wow.
He knew about zonal marking before it was a twinkle in any manager’s eye.
I applaud the teachers.

Aye he was a great striker, not sure if he has ever been fully appreciated in his time playing for Celtic.

Don’t be telling me that ha ha I’m joking of course I mean Big Billy is one of our greats,I know my opinion is a bit narrow minded, but it’s just how I would feel, tho if he ever did get the managers position he would get my total support.
Hoping Neil is here for many more years, but if the day comes when he leaves, then hopefully Jackie would get the chance.
Peace be with you
While I have warmed to him based on his recent performances in Europe and while none of us will forget his destruction of Rangers in the NY day game a few years ago, calling Giorgios a Celtic legend is a step too far IMO.
I mean no disrespect to the guy who’s clearly a top bloke and has become a Celtic man, but legend?
Sorry, not for me.
Really enjoyable final now
GG
Some great posts from you of late which suggests you’re keeping well.
Kind regards and of course I well remember your nightshift posts going back some years.
And HH to John Herron:o)
ITV commentator as the game switches from end to end – “It’s turning into a basketball match”.

IAs for Ian Murray, he has done well with Dumbarton and they seem to be getting great results against bigger clubs, but I’m going to show myself up here, he played for Rangers, and I don’t know how comfortable I would be having him being manager of Celtic
*not only that but in his last game for Hibs on black Sunday he didnae try a leg, then again we contrived tae give his manager that day a job when he shouldnae have picked him.
McClairNo1,
“Peace be with you”

And also with you my friend. A very apt salutation to your posts.

Bhoylo83: It uses two songs — “The Impossible Dream” and “My Way” — that Youtube is complaining about. It’s a rights things, depending on who holds the rights, and which countries, etc. Personally, I believe it is fair use, but I don’t get to make that call. What country are you in?
the long wait is over: That’s fair. To each his own. :-)
Jobo: Basketball, as in takes 20 minutes to play the last 60 seconds?
BHOYLO83,
the top version wouldn’t play for me but the second version played fine
Nip to the toilet, come back and masterchef has been put on and mrs borgo has that bring it on look in her eye
Ref. the Pat McGinley endorsement for car mechanics
Where is he based?
If I can’t travel east, can anyone else recommend a good car mechanic in Glasgow?
Jobo….mutually consented. .:-))
Billy Bhoy. You are the one who throws insults around. The. You decry those who respond. You are a cyber Nat bully. A group if yes voters attempting to bully everyone into your opinion. You then cry could when your get a response.
You are a FACT person. People on this blog know what that means. Only you don’t only use FACTS you lie and you distort and then you run away.
You ask where you compared me to the BNP? Well it was in your bitter together post where your list included BNP and no voters.
Or shall we talk about your post to me on looking forward to getting rid of unionist once Scotland is independent.
You are a charlatan who avoids answering questions and I am now utterly convinced that you are simply here to push your yes agenda. You are an SNP plant.
As people know on this site, I have been posting from the beginning, since it’s inception. I have had many a rammy, but I have never felt such a dislike for a fellow poster as you.
You are a disgrace to the yes campaign, your conceit and distortion are an anathema to democracy and truth.
You know what, I almost called you a Hun, I won’t but the fact I came close says it all.
