Midfield protection

930

While Neil Lennon’s mind will be more engaged with preparations for next season than SPL results between now and then he will be a bit alarmed at how porous his midfield has been recently. Celtic have been leaking goals at the back in an alarming manner but the cover from midfield has contributed most to the problem.

Injuries have been disruptive but it’s surprising that the team shape has not been maintained, irrespective of who is playing.

  5. After a discussion about masons yesterday I was sandiched between two on the bus home last night in auld reekie. One next to me and one behind me on the bus.

They talked in riddles most of the time but had their briefcases and ties on.

The one thing I did dicipher was their chat around flute bands. Both were looking forward to the marching season and they were pleased that their club had managed to raise enough funds to ensure a band from Lothian and Glasgow would be in attandence at some event in the summer.

I asked Mrs LB to give me a call and put the volume at full on my mobile. Let it ring out at full blast until it went to answer phone. They didn’t say a word the rest of my journey.

I guess they didn’t like my Grand ole team ring tone.

Mrs LB got the full story when I got in. She just shook her head and told me to grow up!

She is not fully wise in the ways of these cretins. She will realise soon enough when young LB comes home and complains of being abused by knuckle draggers for wearing the Hoops.

Are you sure they weren’t both referees though?

  7. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

I got a glimpse of the guy behind me when i was getting off he had a handle bar moustache that was about 30 years out of date.

The guy next to me looked like one of those guys who hadn’t worked a day in his life. He may have been a referee.

Given that the full package is take it or leave it, I think McGregor will take it when forced to make a final decision. He doesn’t accept the 12-12-18, he doesn’t get the single governing body, the redistribution of cash and the rest of the 80% he likes. There’s a bit of playing to the gallery in his public statements, he wants to go back to his support and say he tried but……

The riddles they were talking was amusing. It was surreal after the discussions yesterday. The other thing that was amusing was that there was a guy clearly selling drugs on the bus talking about all his business within ear shot of everyone and not giving a monkeys and these two eejits were talking in some sort of strange code about meetings, marching and guys they clearly know in some kind of code. The differences in our society!

An education getting the bus these days.

I agree but a lack of creativity from midfield must be factored into this.

  13. There’s something really depressing about The Reconstruction Of Scottish Football it’s like painting over the damp in your house knowing full well it will come back and the smell will always be there…

  14. What will happen with the reconstruction vote . Easy rangers . Green will get what rangers n green want . The groundwork will have been done already. Apart from the raith rovers man TH who has to much integrity to bow to them , and who has a genuine interest in the sport of football in scotland , the rest will side with the huns . You didnt have to be to clever to realize his appearance at our match had an agenda . The credability of football has gone , they will be back punishment free and ready to continue all avenues to get into europe ,whrre they have to be to make ends meet ,and that will be achieved to the detriment of ALL other clubs , who will continue to accept what has gone on so far and turn the other cheek .

Proud bhoy we need to keep cost low to compete but we spend salaries on non scoring strikers!!!!!

indeed taxi for most of them

I would keep watt obviously and stokes as he will score goals in the spl and wont be bullied by the big fouling centre halfs.

Would only keep hooper if he asked to stay as i think its obvious he isnt to interested since january, defo since juve put us out.

Samaras would also stay but defo wouldnt play him up front and would rest him for alot of away Spl games.

  16. !!Bada Bing!!

The guy was clearly off his head. The tell tale signs were all there.

Phoning people randomly and cutting through very little chat and then saying ‘Do you want to buy this stuff? It’s top quality! I don’t need the money right away but if you have it that’s great.’

Must have phoned about 20 people in 20 mins!

The guy made more money on that bus than I did all day at work.

His brain was clearly frazzled. he will get caught sooner or later operating like that. He was even getting peoples addresses and repeating them out loud.

Madness. Public transport is always an education.

The 9 SFL Div 1 representatives at last week’s meeting are for the reconstruction proposal and could resign SFL if they are not accepted.

SPL2 is coming, 2 divisions of 12 and to hell with the rest. Its probably what the current SPL have wanted all along.

The new set up will include the current SPL 12, the current 10 from Div 1, QOS as league champions of Div 2 and ????? (runners up of Div 2 or champions of Div 3). This is where the behind the scenes manoeuvrings of Chuckles & Longmuir are taking place. Longmuir has scuppered the SFL voting for 12-12-18, Chuckles is trying to do the same with the SPL (hence his visit(s) to Gilmour at St Mirren). After a big flounce after the SFL rejection in a fortnight, the real plan will kick in. And we all know ???? will be the champions of the third division.

Livibhoy- sure he wasn’t the new Rang##s scout, teeing up mair galacto-diiddies for next season, or ‘phase 2’?

  19. I’ve just been emailed the artwork for the CQN All Celtic Fans Against the Bill.

  22. The author Iain Banks has announced he has only months to live. Shocking news, a superb writer.

  23. Someone asked earlier about Gary Hooper’s goal scoring since January. Here are his stats for this season:

16 in 29 up to the end of December

    9 in 16 since January

Not a lot of difference at all.

  24. From Twitter

6 March 2013 – UEFA Champions League – Italy: Juventus – Celtic FC

During the Juventus and Celtic match, songs in support of terrorist organisations were sang. From the 18th to 22th minute the “Boys from the Old Brigade” song was chanted.

Looks like FARE need to brush up on their grasp of Irish history.
