Celtic got the job done at Ross County yesterday with a performance that was far from their scintillating norm this season. This comes on the back of a home win over Hibs last time out, where again they struggled to breakdown an opponent, who on that occasion played the majority of the game with 10 men.
The games against County and Hibs were both played without Aaron Mooy and (apart from 13 minutes v Hibs) Reo Hatate. Celtic were poorer for their absence. Even defenders were less assured in possession, such are the options created for them by Reo and Aaron, not to mention their more obvious creative talents. We have learned some midfield truths these last two games.
Aaron will be back for Saturday. By then, Reo’s hamstring injury will have three weeks convalescence, which is just on the cusp of viability. Important though this game is, the Scottish Cup semi-final is the biggest game this month. I would be reluctant to jeopardise Reo for Hampden.
We don’t do this often enough, so…. great spot by VAR at Dingwall. Only Cameron Carter-Vickers saw the penalty. Sky TV’s “Shocking decision, it hit Carter-Vicker’s shoulder”, became “Shocking decision” only, when their video made it clear this was not the case. If only Sky staff watched Sky Sports their product would improve. Funny watching them squirm, I suppose.
Ah, Brendan, it was always going to end this way. Our former manager got 4 years at Leicester City before being mutual-ed out of a job yesterday. He improved Celtic immeasurably in his time here before throwing colleagues under the proverbial bus when they obstructed a bumper move to China. More on this later.

Although we have another 3 points in the bag , I sincerely hope we perform better against old firm fc on Saturday , that on Sunday was a few notches below what we are capable off and what we have been seeing this season . We have the chance on Saturday to put this league to bed , to put them back in there box , to deflate them for the upcoming semi final , and to shut up the laptop loyal and the sevco bench on sportscene . ( how they are allowed to get away with that i’ll never know ) we have the players to make that come true ,but it needs a better performance than Sunday . We will be there in huge numbers to supply the encouragement if any is needed . As an aside , to all our fellow celts who will be watching in the bars have a great day and stay safe HH
Again as with the Ross County game, as long as we win, I don’t care
The win will kill them and provoke so much hun on hun pain, a shitty win will be worth it
Brrb
I can’t make the Shipwreck but can you put ‘So What?’ by the Anti Nowhere League on for me ? The bar staff love it😎
Good evening all from Chapmans, Ruglen. And then the Vogue. It’s a hard life.
hopinng someone has captured mal fron morn iron calling clyde tonight, funniest in a long time.
hun telling us, celtic are crap, they cant win in europe, it was var that beat county, we are shite beofre and after europe, and they struggle to win well.
gordon “mal celtic have scored 95 goals how is that ?
its var.
mal celtic beat rangers 4-0 before going to madrid
aye thats on geo.
mal, celtic came back from leipzing and beat hibs 6-1
aye, but thats hibs
mal, but you could only draw last time at ibrox. amd lost the cup semi
aye but we are due to beat them by 2 or 4 ……….
In this game the result is all that matters to me, a destruction would be great but a 1-0 score gets the points and makes it 12 points with 7 games to go. The rotten mob drop another game before the split could be title won, having the title won before the split would be best imo.

If we play the ballers bs The Rangers on Sat we will prevail
My only worry recently is that we excel as a team and not individually
Examples
Kyogo top scorer but has missed sitters
Maeda when released is great but stuck when taking it to feet
O’Reilly not sure when a shot is on
When we play ‘our football’ it all clicks but some guys disappear when the opposition disrupt
Jota is the only one who keeps at it as an outlet
I think Haksa and Oh can do the same; strong in mind and body
My team for Sat is
Hart
Johnston CCV Starfelt Taylor
Mooy McGregor Haksa
Jota Oh Maeda

I’m a nervous wreck about Saturday already. And going to the game with Prestonpans will increase my anxiety. He’s a Kilmarnock hooligan. 😳

Plugged it from school and took the bus to kilmarnock in 1988 or 89
Got a carry oot visited a few pubs and survived!!
TBF coneybhoy, stayed in cumnock at the time
Was shitting it – but killie had 4 more tims…..
Iwata showed up well in his first start for the club, moved the ball swiftly all game. Only a couple of occasions could i did say he was slack. He was quick across the pitch. He will be a good player for us. There is a drop off of creative edge when Hatata and mooy are not playing.
Next transfer window. We need as a priority a:
Ball playing left cèntreback
A good quality attacking midfield/ number 8
A good quality right winger

I’m a nervous wreck about Saturday already.
Try getting out more, take a wander around your local environment, take the airs, feel the breeze in a garden somewhere, smell the flowers, meet people. whatever you do dont sit in the house frettin the game will take care of itself

Ffs hahahaha 😂
Every time I saw a view of yesterday’s penalty it was from behind the goal.
Tonight STV started with view facing the goal – obvious penalty
Then all the views shown were again from behind goal
And sfa CEO comes out to talk
Scandalous
Harry Kane gets pushed in the face and drops like someone shot him!
Oh and red card for Everton player

Not going to repost what you said but I pretty much agree, the fraud is a good short term manager and has proved that, until we came calling he couldnae buy a job in the EPL and as much as he was good for us, then we can say the same about we were good for him tae and when the first hauf decent club dropped their drawers he was for the Joe the Toff taking most of the back room staff except the much maligned grandson of a real Celtic legend John Kennedy, son of a first class Celtic manager Gavin Strachan and Tradamus Lampada FP Stevie Woods from a well known Dumbarton Republican family who refused tea go with him.
He also tried to take our current captain and much vaunted left back at the time who both told his emissary, he didnae have the guts tae come back tae Lennoxtown himself, tae eff off, he left us in the lurch facing 2 tough games through in the nations capital, a place where he struggled in, which we won and the much defamed Lenny states that it was down to the aforementioned big JK who picked the sides and set out the tactics for both games, how often when we missed out on the 10 are Peter and Neil blamed for either, alone or together, when if the truth be told the Sheffield Wednesday supporter was the reason, never a Tim, his da and brothers were but NOT him, he preferred the Owls as his cousin nigel worthington played for them.

*SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2022-23*
*RESULTS FROM GAME #43 – ROSS COUNTY 0 CELTIC 2 (JOTA(pen), BERNABEI)*
Good evening, friends.
A pretty stuffy performance but apart from the 10 minutes following THAT pass by Starfelt I really didn’t feel in any danger. Of course, when the 2nd goal finally came it did settle the nerves and meant we maintain both our 9 point lead and our 27 goal differential.
Domestically this season we have now played 36, winning 34, drawing 1 and losing 1, scoring 120 and conceding 24.
As always, my grateful thanks to the 67 who emailed me with their 3 nominations. The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.
Hart: 0
Johnston: 56
Carter-Vickers: 41
Starfelt: 2
Taylor: 5
McGregor: 7
Iwata: 27
O’Riley: 0
Jota*: 35
Kyogo: 0
Maeda: 1
Bernabei: 6
Turnbull: 1
Oh*: 17
Haksabanovic*: 3
Vata: 0
And so the players receiving POINTS for the game against Ross County are –
Johnston – 5 pts
Carter-Vickers – 4 pts
Jota – 3 pts
Iwata – 2 pts
Oh – 1 pt
After 43 games the overall standings are as shown below –
86 points – Hatate
78 points – Carter-Vickers
59 points – Jota
51 points – Mooy
44 points – Kyogo
43 points – McGregor and Taylor

10 points – Ralston

7 points – Hart
5 points – Turnbull
4 points – Kobayashi and Oh
2 points – Iwata
0 points – Abildgaard, Lawal, McCarthy, Siegrist and Vata
Our next game is on Saturday 8th April when we entertain Triggers Broom FC in a 12.30pm kick off. As my own Easter Sunday plans include a family get together (and as it’s also the final round of The Masters!) the results will be delayed. Voting will remain open for 12 hours longer than normal, until 10.00am on Easter Monday and I’ll have the results issued before Noon. And, whoever you watch the game with, why not get them to vote too!
We need 16 points from our final 8 games to be crowned Champions. Again! But if we secure 3 in our next game, we only then need a further 10.
Hail Hail!
