Migration is beneficial. Even in football

310

If Gary Mackay-Steven moves from Celtic to Aberdeen he will be the third creative midfield player to transfer between the clubs this window. Ryan Christie’s loan to Aberdeen was extended for this season. Jonny Hayes move to Celtic created a vacancy on Aberdeen’s right, and in doing so moved Mackay-Steven down the Celtic pecking order. On paper the move north would be great for the Celtic winger.

This is not quite the top two clubs collaborating on squad management, but it’s as close as you are likely to get. Aberdeen would have preferred to keep Hayes, but with money on the table for a player running down his contract he was sold to the highest bidder: Celtic.

Christie was brought to Celtic by Ronny Deila as a development project. Openings for the creative mid slots at Celtic are incredibly competitive. The risk to Christie is that his development, which was purring along nicely at Inverness, stalls in the Celtic stands. It is in Celtic’s and his best interests that the he plays regularly in an attacking team.

Mackay-Steven has a glorious first few weeks at Celtic but has been hampered by the perennial burden of wingers: consistency. His confidence appears shot. If he moved to Pittodrie, Derek McInnes may be able to get the best out of him.

There’s an empirically established economic fact: migration is economically beneficial for both the gaining and losing nations. This summer’s proposed migration between Celtic and Aberdeen is likely to fall into this category.

19 assists from Jonny Hayes in all competitions speaks volumes regardless of what country they were scored in. I believe the Griffalo will benefit tremendously playing alongside Hayes

Anyone any info on the our potential new Midfielder? It just seems to be dragging out a bit considering the lad had a Medical at the weekend.

You Slag the Celtic board for their lack of action, but still champion journalists as “real Celtic men”.

You do realize that “irony” is not the same as “coppery” don’t you?

  8. For those who would like a distilled version of the update to Res12 on CQN Magazine this might help.

    Here is a summary.

1 Rangers under SDM from 2000 until he sold to CW cheated by dishonestly concealing side letters from HMRC and SFA and dishonestly obtained a UEFA licence in March 2011.

2 Rangers under Craig Whyte in 2011 dishonestly retained that licence by lieing to UEFA.

    3. SFA since Sep 2011 after Sherriff Officer turned up at Ibrox in Aug 2011 tried to minimise the consequences of 2 by public statements that only reflected the lie used to get the UEFA licence.

4.SFA and SPL tried to minimise consequences of 1 using the LNS Commission.

Evidence suggests SFA and RFC in collusion on 2.

Evidence suggest SPL and/or Duff and Phelps dishonestly misled the LNS Commission by concealing the evidence that justifies 4 , evidence that SFA should have received from Rangers in 2011 under UEFA FFP. If SFA did have in 2011 why was it not given to SPL in 2012.

In short a trail of dishonesty from which Rangers gained a financial advantage, which amounts to fraud and explains SFA reluctance to have an enquiry and further evidence of dishonesty in covering it all up

All the debate on meaning of the rules and what all previous discussions based on an interpretation of them are meaningless on the basis of the last para.

As BRTH says. If you lie to get into a competition then you cannot possibly keep what you won from playing in a competition you were not entitled to enter.

When the Pharisee in blue invite you into their semantical labyrinth don’t go there.

Play the game on your home ground which is Dishonesty Park.

Hayes or GMS.If Jonny turns in impressive displays and the coaching staff are happy then I and many more will be more than happy. If the coaching staff believe GMS does not fit in their plans, then it’s farewell.Let us wait until the season gets underway, judge ALL on their performances and hopefully we can have a better season than the one we just witnessed.

  10. BLHADE @ 8:44 PM,

Yes, with Celtic dominating financially, on the pitch and making ambitious future plans. The last thing we need is a bout of SDM type Hubris.

Or for this to be seen as some blood-lust against The Rangers.

Celtic are patiently, consistently asking for the rules to be applied. As the Affiliation Statement says… without Fear or Favour…

If a Review is undertaken I have no doubt “Common Justice” will be accomplished.

Just another example of where I believe the SPL Commission Decision is flawed.

It finds the rule Breaches made by Rangers are pertaining to Sporting Integrity…

    Now

It argues that Sporting Integrity is not akin to UEFA’s FFP policy nor does breaching Sporting Integrity rules lead to any Competitive or Sporting Advantage.

It therefore argues that it is a Financial consideration only, therefore the Sanctions lay with Oldco only as no Sporting rules were breached then Newco were in the clear.

This is why, I believe, that Celtic have always highlighted the “Sporting Advantage” point.

This was a stretch of the imagination before the EBT’s were pronounced Illegal, now the whole thing looks completely untenable.

Review and let Justice be done…

    Hail Hail

Bada … I think he could do well there. there is a good player in there … just not one suited for the scottish game as much as the game in other places.

on a different note …. I saw the statement from the Association of Celtic Supporters … says it all pretty succinctly ….can someone explain to me why they can make such a statement, but Celtic PLC cannot?

  13. Auldheid. I hear you on res 12 and as I have said throughout I admir allowed of you taking this forward.

But one awful fact remains. Celtic, despite all the evidence and argument, refused to pursue it. And we still (and I am sure you) have t been given a good explanation as to why.

    So.

    The problem is.

Whilst we are waiting on the Scottish football authorities err doing something about cheating. And whilst we are waiting on Celtic acting.

    What faith should we have.

Guys on SFM getting problems with ads, advice from a blogger

John ClarkJuly 11, 2017 at 13:50 Can anyone tell me please how I can rid of Amazon adverts on each side of the screen when I sign in to SFM? There’s no wee ‘x’ to click on, and they just popped up. They encroach on the blogging space which means I sometimes type into them and the whole bloody page of Amazon crap comes up. Who are these bas..rds that seem to be able to butt in to our screens without a by-your-leave?Hang them, I would!

John search for adblock plus for your browser, (ie mine is firefox, so i typed in adblock plus for firefox and now have adblock plus for firefox installed. It will download to your download folder blue arrow right hand top of browser in firefox open and install and if not automatically then it will advise to close your and open again with your now new all dancing add on)

once installed the right hand side of browser (top) you will red hexagon with white letters enclosed ABP, once you open any site and the ads appear right click on ad and choose from drop down menu block image option. There is no worries about the ads the fact you hit the site a register hit counter notifies you have been to the intended advert and recipent is paid. Have you noticed the herald and others want you to remove your ad block when you read their site, (now the small favour part). Try it you have nothing to lose and its firefox, google chrome, internet explorer property so they want it used.04

  17. Mike, If Celtic are to make any progress, it cannot be done by megaphone diplomacy. To be honest I’m surprised that you would appear to be advocating a policy of this nature. There is a high profile game in 3 days with the potential for serious trouble. If Celtic were to issue what the Huns would regard as an inflammatory statement and there just happens to be trouble in Belfast, who do you think will get it in the neck.

I have no idea if anything at all is happening behind the scene’s but Peter should be having a one to one with his counterparts in the various Clubs to try & get a few on board. Where are Aberdeen, Hibs & Dundee United.

Unless we get them on Board this campaign will not succeed.

  18. Could someone point me in the direction of the official statement on the Supreme Court decision from Hearts, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Motherwell etc by any chance.

I am struggling to find them, but Celtic’s inaction is being proclaimed very loudly.

Strange that, the only club to speak out is getting grief for not saying more, yet clubs that have said nothing warrant no criticism.

Celtic spoke of expecting a review of the decision that even at the time we, and many others, found strange. The SPFL haven’t commented yet, therefore neither have Celtic.

I assume what the SPFL will say is “the commission was set up and regulated by the SPL, we as a completely different organization cannot revisit or review its findings since it was not commissioned by us”

Huns then, Huns now, Huns forever.

Auldheid, thanks for breaking down the Resolution 12 update , its very much appreciated.

Some of those who sit around me at our games , knew very little or nothing about Resolution 12.

Your breakdown will help me explain to those interested, what the SFA , the league and the huns were up to.

    Thanks again

  20. Perhaps some searching questions would be in order for members of the journalistic profession as to their silence on recent, and past, events.
