Miku, Lassad and Ambrose need to stretch legs

842

If you are going to Celtic Park tomorrow you will see a lot of photos like the one above.  Outside the ground 200 bucketeers will be collecting to raise money to send Oscar Knox for treatment for neauroblastoma.

Be prepared.  Bring spare cash with you, have it ready and do your bit for Oscar.

For the second week in a row we take on the team at the bottom of the table; see how that worked out last week.  After an awful August which saw Dundee’s return to the SPL marked with one point and no goals scored from four games, they picked up three points at Tynecastle before losing a lead late in the game against Motherwell last weekend.  Manager Barry Smith will have watched how St Johnstone went about their business six days ago and will believe his team can nick something at Celtic Park.

Neil Lennon (and some of us) will welcome the drop in intensity from Wednesday’s Champions League tie as Celtic are likely to give game time to those who joined the club three weeks ago.  Miku, Lassad and Ambrose all need to stretch their legs.

Big shout again for the guys raising money for Celtic Youth Development through TicPick.  It’s £1 to enter and you win £1000 for predicting 10 results.  I’ve gone for Celtic to beat Dundee, West Ham to beat Sunderland, Aberdeen and Motherwell to draw, Man City to beat Arsenal, St Mirren to beat Killie, Dundee United to beat Hearts, Man Utd to beat Liverpool, Hibs to beat Inverness, Chelsea to beat Stoke and Spurs to beat QPR.

RANGERS will be included in the latest release of EA SPORTS hugely popular FIFA series.

The game’s manufacturer today confirmed that Light Blues supporters who purchase the game on its release next week will be able to play as their favourite team.

A statement said: “EA SPORTS announced today that it has reached agreement with Rangers Football Club that will ensure fans of the massive Scottish institution, with 140 years of history, will be able to play with their favourite team in FIFA 13 and future versions of the EA SPORTS FIFA videogame.”

The game is available on multiple platforms from Tuesday September 25.

  2. And here I was thinkin’ Philvis with his prescient podiums was God. At least in his own mind.

And if so, we are in soapy.

Coz it means God is a neoliberal.

    And that is not good.

I’m not sure about the lead singer but I quite like the quirky instrumentation.

  10. Dear God, the adidas stuff wasn’t awenawed. The Sevco director really said that.

Sevco would be the biggest club adidas has? Aye, in the fourth tier of the footballing wilderness that is Scotland, maybe.

  11. Okay here is the rap Celts face about the banner from the SFA

Alleged Party in Breach: Celtic FC

    Match: Celtic v Norwich City

    Date: 24th July 2012

    Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached:

    (1) Disciplinary Rule 26 (Failing to take all such steps as are reasonably practicable to ensure the good conduct and behaviour of Celtic FC supporters at Celtic Park during the above match: by failing to prevent said supporters from bringing into the ground and displaying an offensive banner.)

    (2) Disciplinary Rule 28 (Failing to take all such steps as are reasonably practicable to prevent misbehaviour by spectators at the above match: by failing to prevent spectators from bringing into the ground and displaying an offensive banner.)

    (3) Disciplinary Rule 31 ((i) Failing to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that policies and procedures have been adopted and implemented to prevent instances of Unacceptable Conduct: by failing to prevent spectators at the above match from bringing into the ground and displaying an offensive banner and; (ii) by failing to deal effectively with an instance of Unacceptable Conduct: by allowing spectators to retain possession of said offensive banner after it had been initially displayed, which allowed them to display the banner on a second occasion during the above match.)

    (4) Disciplinary Rule 32 (Failing to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that supporters of Celtic FC did not engage in Unacceptable Conduct at the above match: by failing to prevent said supporters from bringing into the ground and displaying an offensive banner.)

As you may notice after reading this a hundred times the offensive banner keeps getting mentioned but not the actual reason why its offensive

So can anyone tell me what is offensive about shooting (in cartoon form) a Rangers Football Club zombie (emphasise CLUB) risen from an RFC tombstone

Surely the offence is not because RFC oldco the club are actually zombies and a zombie fan made a complaint

    Dinamo Kiev

The offensive banner is a pimple on the ass of someone in rude health watching the carcass of their greatest fiend enter putrefaction that is how I feel about it.

I like that team, but apparently Miku is not 100%. Swap him with Lassad and we’re sorted.

  17. I was at that friendly v Norwich, and that supposedly offensive banner was hard to see properly unless somebody really really really wanted to see it. So I’m assuming it was some wee clype of an angry-faced polis who wanted to get some digs in and had to wait to get the okay from his luj; that might explain the delay in the reporting of the supposed offence.

And I noticed that day that the polis were all looking right hard faced even at an innocuous old Tim like yours truly.

I haven’t had looks like that since I called a Tory m.p. a fascist to his face.

  18. markderrybhoy – Philvis was trying to buy a plain black coffee, no sugar.

Apparently I had to order an “Americano”.

I’m not looking to buy a Holly Johnson single, I said.

The barista looked at me with pity in her eyes. (thumbsup)

    Gordon_J – “If trends continue”

There’s your problem. Current trends rarely continue in a straight line.

Anyway, I’d be interested to see the stats on difference in fertility between people who have no religion and people who are religious.

I would imagine the latter tend to have several children while the former are currently failing to replace themselves.

That’s a clue to the future.

Also, Pavan Dhaliwal, Head of Public Affairs at the British Humanist Association, commented on the government’s attitude. “Certain government ministers have recently taken a more aggressive stance regarding the role of religion in public life, and have claimed that Britain is still a Christian country.

Pavan Dhaliwal should lay off the drugs. He must’ve been watching “V for Vendetta” while dropping acid and got it confused with real life.

Perhaps they are all too busy with campaigns against marriage equality

I’ve taught you before about the weasel word propaganda phrase “marriage equality”. Perhaps you’re too busy to learn. (thumbsup)

  20. tomtheleedstim – We’re talking about Philvis here aren’t we?

If Philvis was going to start a religion it would be based around the wonder of Elvis A. Presley, whose main commandment is “Don’t Be Cruel”.

Philvis is merely his guitar man on Earth. (thumbsup)

  21. Just listening to the BBC Sportsound podcast and Jabba stating it will be very difficult for Celtic to get out of the “offensive banner” charge.

    Amazing!

  22. Rieperman, Leo’s a great player.

We have a brilliant panel this year.

My hope is – like many of this year’s games – is that we are level or within a point at HT.

We seem to pull away in the 2nd half of every game, which is reflective if the players’ fitness.

Jimmy’s Winning Matches – and hopefully another one will be added on Sunday at Croker.

Was there in ’92 and hope to see a repeat, and SAM returning to the hills.

    Enjoy!

  23. By the way, a big (thumbsup) right back at wee Oscar. You can tell he’s an amazingly awesome lad. (thumbsup)

    Beirut ?

Been a while since I heard them —- I thought they sounded like a Klezmer band- .

    On the opinion front-

” We were playing a festival in Dublin the other week . There was this other group warming up in the next chalet and they were terrible . My band said that’s ‘ The Sons of Mumford ‘ -they’re No 5 in the charts——– I just thought they were a bunch of retarded Irish folk singers .”

Of course the SFA will have to explain what is offensive about it to CFC then of course its a matter of interpretation by CFC if they also believe it is offensive

Obviously its offensive to zombies after that Im not sure

Personally Im offended by people who cook bunny rabbits for dinner
