Neil Lennon, his goalkeeper and defenders will not be too concerned at the loss of their first goal in domestic football yesterday since Noah was a boy. John Rankin’s pot-shot from 20-odd yards clipped the post on its way in but the Dundee United player scored from an area of the field that is usually vigorously monitored by Beram Kayal.
We’re going to miss that guy……

In defense of Neg anon2
He has a point.
The booing in my recollection came amid a summer where Wim Jansen had left because of Jock Brown. There was zero investment in the Celtic team that summer from the side that had won the title. Dr Jo came in very late in the summer. The animals had spent yet another fortune on a team which would later cause them their current problems but which none of us were privy to at the time.
Fergus for all the great things he did made a lot of mistakes and was stubborn if nothing else. He knew not to give that daft consortium from Dalglish and Jim Kerr the time of day but that summer after a time when Celtic should have built on their first championship win in a decade but the headlines generated by a fallout
between two men Fergus had picked divided the support, not Bhoys against bigotry or any other rubbish.
There were rumours of Brown interfering in transfer policy, Paul Lambert was allegedly getting sold and then you had the team at odds with Fergus and the board over the Champions league bonus payments.
Now all of these things added to seeing the filth spend another fortune led to the booing.
I didn’t do it but at the time I understood the frutrations. Days before the season started I went to Kilmarnock to Ray Montgomery’s testimonial and the board sitting in the stand (if they were there) were getting it tight from a lot of supporters. I think this was Dr Jo’s first match and it was a few days before the farce of a 0-0 draw with St Pats at home in the European cup qualifiers.
It was an amalgamation of months of frustrations after what should have been a summer or rejoicing.

Right, first of all, stop putting words in my mouth – where have I said I dislike them so much? I’ve yet to get personal with you on this, but I am getting close.
And secondly, why would I have forgotten about it?
Do you understand, at all, just how much was actually spent on redeveloping Celtic Park?
Here’s a clue: The share issue didn’t cover the redevelopment of the Jungle.
My dear,dear,dear,friend…Neganon

Bankie next tae the broo? Robert Burns mo chara?
The last time I was in Clydebank I met a wee fox walking up Kilbowie Road and he asked me “Are the Huns paying their taxes?”
Whatever the reasons for the treatment the Bunnet got, I thought it was out of order.
He done good did the bunnet, he made a couple of serious gaffs, and the appointment of Jock Brown was the worst imo.
It’s all water under the bridge, we as a club have trying times ahead that will be much bigger than the bunnet ever had to endure.
TET
Yep i know what you mean but couldnt resist an open goal.
I will be around for a pint at the end of the month,i will be in touch nearer the time
Aye. We were above the broo. It was an odd arrangement but in the 50’s we just got on wi things, eh?
Do ye remember Tedesci’s Cafe?

Agreed. I thought the support had been played like a fiddle by the MSM :-(
Anyone have any idea what the free-kick the huns got that led to their 1st goal was for?
Watched it a few times and can see nothing.

Football Agent: Nice ‘work’ if you can get it…
“One of those players was the then 19-year-old Rubén Rochina, who was signed for €450,000 (£372,000) from Barcelona. His agent, Manuel Salamanca Ferrer, received a £1.65m fee. Anderson worked on the deal with Ferrer but has said he made no money from the transfer.”

Played like a fiddle by the tags and let down badly by wim Jansen, who knew exactly what he was doing when he left so soon after we’d stopped the ten with no explanation at all.

Neganon2,
My last word on it, I hope!
I never said that you implied that Fergus lied.
I said that he didn’t lie to the support and did what he set out to do.
My abiding memory of him was of the day we brought the Sod from Donegal to Celtic Park.
After Fergus made his wee speech of welcome and appreciation, he ceremoniously planted the turf.
Afterwards, he shyly asked if he could have his photo taken with me.
I was delighted to oblige:>) Anyone who did what he did for Celtic, was my kind of man.
Hail the Bunnet. No ifs, buts or maybes.
Look, there People are Funny…Peculiar..

I wish wee Fergus was still in charge, specially for last season. He was far too smart for them all,and they knew it.
Cults
Not a bother, he is seeing a bloke tomorrow about something to do with working at the docks, sounds promising, thanks for asking, but please keep your eye open.
Exiled Tim,
Testing times ahead for the next 4 months mo chara.
Another thing.Be prepared for the biggest onslaught of anti Celtic bigotry from referees, linesmen and Scottish media never to be seen .
Ever.
In terms of my Celtic Heroes…Ferguson ranks up there with Lisbon Lions, Paul McStay, MON,Henke
I still think potentially bigger hero is about to be created though…the man who rids Scotland of the Huns, giving Celtic a free run of trophies in Scotland , financial security from year on year European competition could well spark a new Celtic renaissance ….Craig Whyte could make Celtic Euro beaters again
Bankie, next to the Atlantis?
Exiled
Email me the guy’s name… I have a pal who does that.. Is it Swan &co by any chance?

Class!!
A quick question before I retire re the FTT and the hun.
Is the FTT just like a normal court, the prosecution on one side and the defence on the other side with a panel of judges ?
If this is the case, who are the judges, not asking for names, just the make up of the tribunal, and are they judges like you would find in a criminal/civil court ?
That’s a great idea! A statue of Craig Whyte outside Paradise! LOL!
Kojo….
A surrealistically good point!
Tric – Aye, but well afore that howff was ever thought of…..
Do ye remember the snooker parlour – Big “Fancy” Flanagan ran it, till that wee bit o’ bother in 57 I think.

In defense of Neg anon2
There is no defence
It is the argument of the ignorant
We were very fortunate then the bunnet stepped in to save the club
In true Life of Brian fashion what did the bunnet ever do for us
Healed a club left bankrupt financially and morally by a sick board
Built a new stadium
Dealt with Farry and the SFA
Dealt with tax dodging players
A hostile media at his throat, the DR had two reporters in Canada digging up dirt
He transformed the dying club into what we enjoy today
He waded through all this shit doing 18 hour days
Its nonsense to see tabloid spin and lies being regurgitated as fact now
My dear,dear,dear,friend.. ThomTheThim
Thanks, Fur the Nod,pal..
Ah appreciate it.
