Mind the Kayal Gap

794

Neil Lennon, his goalkeeper and defenders will not be too concerned at the loss of their first goal in domestic football yesterday since Noah was a boy.  John Rankin’s pot-shot from 20-odd yards clipped the post on its way in but the Dundee United player scored from an area of the field that is usually vigorously monitored by Beram Kayal.

We’re going to miss that guy……

    BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

    surely not, boss, surely not

    i get your logic but

    1 – have you studied the exact path of the sun and exactly how much light gets to exactly which parts of the pitch ? what are the results ?

    2 – most importantly – the grass we get generally is grown using lamps etc, is that not true ?

    3 – we should bank enough cash to ever ensure that we have grass ready to swap in at any given time

    4 – new technologies are comin along all the time

    also, part of any stand improvement should include a 2-level sub-pitch warm-up area, team bus or coach parkin facility, and of course pitch heating system

    prob all pie in the sky

    but we can dream

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    To grow grass requires adequate sunlight,wind and drainage. The rain is a given in Glasgow.
    Raising the level of the South Stand will screw up the first two,and an underground coach park will affect the third.
    Also,it would undermine the stadium,which might not be a good trade-off for parking 100 or so buses.
    As for laying aside cash for grass,a lot of my friends do this,and even they wouldn’t come up with your proposals.
    Per chance does Vanessa’s parents have Critical Illness Assurance. Some of these policies also have Childrens Critical Illness cover and it can be up to £30000 on some policies.. Its an add on and sometimes people forget or dont realise its on their policies. Just asking like. She’s in our prayers
    The boy Koscielny in Arsenal’s defence is an absolute bombscare
    What did he cost Wenger, £8m?
    Walcott could learn a thing or two from wee James Forrest
  6. !!Bada Bing!! Kano 1000 on
    Ten Men- the more EPL you watch and see how much money some of these guys cost,proves we should only sell a player for a realistic offer i.e EPL prices.
  7. we dont need a new south stand, but it could be modernised, south stand always looks detached from rest of staduim, roof and steel work supporting it makes it look outdated, surley modern engineering can help reshape south stand to integrate the stadium?
    but
    will only improve look of stadium, if money is allocated to upgrades the focus should firstly be on increasing revenue i.e the celtic triange. get outside landscaped, upgrade london road school, hotel, bars, superstore
    we’ll be sharing car/coach park with nisa accross the road so no point spending money
    selling barrowfield, old and new, the land at janfield street and the land running up the eerr, when market improves should help fund some of the upgrades
    For all that the support got nervous and grouchy yesterday in the second half, it wasn’t reflected in the performance of the players, most particularly Rogne and Mulgrew. These young bhoys just went about their work in the usual, calm, determined manner. Something one or two in the stadium might do well to note.
    Final 3 days of evidence and argument this week, then maybe 3 months for the decision to come down.
    Nothing imminent.
    Is is possible/likely that THEM will continue to play in the SPL as usual next season with possible repercussions of the tax case not applying before season 2013/2014?
  11. TBB
    Mulgrew and Rogne. Absolutely agree with you. I said that on here last night. Nothing fazed them.
    Also the crowd yesterday got on the players backs as soon as it went 2-1. Do we not learn?
    I was gobsmacked with some of the abuse hurled to certain players yesterday.
    Off 2 amsterdam with mrs tierney towards the end of the week. Anyone recommend any good pubs to watch games? Also, don’t need to use the phone as anything urgent will be on email but want to be able to contact one another without taking out another mortgage. Do we buy cheap SIMS there? Which? Thanks in advance to the CQN jetsetters.
    Good news that the racist comments directed at Rangers players on the internet, have resulted in an arrest.
    Total agreement. I do not consider the person who posted those vile comments a Celtic fan. If he were a Celtic fan he would know of the contribution players from many ethnic backgrounds have made to Celtic not least one Henrick Larsson and big Vic in our current squad. He is not a Celtic fan, he is the antithesis of everything Celtic FC and the vast majority of our support represent.
    I couldn’t think of a better spokesman for them than Winter – an anachronistic club with a support it deserves. He just basically shouted what they’ve been whispering for years.
    The shot was taken from a distance close to 35 yards. A good strike but it is always disappointing to concede from that distance especially when there did not appear to be any deflection that would take the keeper out of the game.
    My other disappointment was the fact that we played the last 25 minutes with only one striker significantly reducing the likelihood of a killer 3rd goal. Had Utd got an equaliser we would have struggled to turn things around with only one striker on the park.
    A huge positive was the return of Commons who made a big contribution in the short period he was on the park. A repeat of last seasons goal tally from Kris would make a huge difference to the team.
    Yesterday also illustrated that there can be no question of selling Hooper this window. The club may have to make a decision in the summer but a sale now is out of the question unless of course you view the league as unimportant.
