Mind the Kayal Gap

794

Neil Lennon, his goalkeeper and defenders will not be too concerned at the loss of their first goal in domestic football yesterday since Noah was a boy.  John Rankin’s pot-shot from 20-odd yards clipped the post on its way in but the Dundee United player scored from an area of the field that is usually vigorously monitored by Beram Kayal.

We’re going to miss that guy……

Yes, I’ve heard it said that HMRC usually make demands in full- even when that means admin/liquidation.

I don’t see why that suits them (HMRC) or us (Celtic) though.

  2. But the 1913-14 season was special, because of a couple of records we set. Does anyone know what they were?

least goals conceded om a league season

Heading out to a Christening party shortly ,

so I’m already in the mood

  6. I was reading Tom McLaughlin’s article this afternoon about celebrating 50 years as a Celtic supporter. I can’t remember the first time I went up there as vividly as he does, and I’m a lot younger.

I remember a game against Clyde probably season 73/74, and the only reason I remember is because I was in the seats in front of the main stand (boys/parent and child stand?) and Jinky let me and all the other weans touch his heid down the front when the teams came out. My claim to fame for weeks after that “A touched Jinkys heid at the Clyde game” Timeline fits in with other things that were going on at that time. I would have been 4/5 years old.

I was normally parked down the front of the Celtic end with the rest of the weans, adults checking up at HT to make sure we were still there. One day I got separated and ended up in the polis station which I’m sure was inside the stadium (The stand ?). I remember the polis questions and I didn’t know where I lived (city, town, street never mind door number) but I did get slagged when I was older for knowing “I came on the Celtic bus“. I also remember the adults reclaiming me, and the brief I got to forget the whole affair before I got home and my mother was around. (round about the same time so 4/5 years old)

One of my older brothers will never forget his first game as he has often been reminded about his first visit (late sixties). Walked up the stairs, looked at the pitch, then around, and shouted “It’s in colour”

R has my card and I thought he was going yesterday. I was working. He was also meant to use it for

    the huns game but didn’t.

Not sure when I’ll be back. Next home game is the 11th of next month but might not make it. After that

    it’s the 25th.

Not missing it to be honest.

Not as outrageous as you think…..

I was lucky enough to havea good chat with him and the stricker who was missing for them when we played them at CP.

He was very positive about Celtic, and the history and he was genuinely interested in the trophies and stories relating to those he saw in the Boardroom.

Esp the Empire Exhibition Cup and the Coronation Cup as well as the big one obviously….a really nice guy.

‘Good Evening Bhoys/Ghirls, whilst enjoing my usual pre match drinks in the Investor Lounge, our new chairman Mr Bankier appeared in and was talking to various people, he then came to our table and i asked him if the board would vote for R****** Newco to be given an SPL position if they lose the Tax case to which he replied DEFINETLY NOT, so there you have it straight from the Chairmans mouth’

If, as Paul 67 has suggested, the matter of a newco huns admission to the SPL is for the board of the SPL it doesn’t matter a tinker’s fart what the Celtic Board decide.

Eric Riley would have to vote for what’s in the best interests of the SPL, not Celtic.

Ian Bankier is a corporate lawyer and knows that perfectly well, even if his questioner(s) didn’t.

Did he say how the SPL would deal with the matter, would it be decided by the board, or by the members?

Or did no one think to ask the question?

Did he say what steps, if any, Celtic would take if the SPL decided to allow a newco huns straight into the SPL?

Or did no one think to ask the question?

Never mind, I’m sure it was all very convivial.
