Missing Organ Grinder

1063

It took a late goal from Anthony Stokes to secure Celtic’s win at Tannadice in August.  That led to a five match unbeaten run for Dundee United, which ended two weeks ago at Pittodrie before Inverness knocked 10-man United out of the League Cup on Tuesday with a 120th minute goal.

Jackie McNamara has stabilised his team and they are likely to finish in the top three this season, but the defeat on Tuesday, which led to a storm of controversy over the behaviour of Nadir Ciftci, will be a major challenge ahead of United’s trip to Celtic Park.  The champions should win comfortably.

There was little glibness evident in The Herald’s sombre interview with Dave King, published this morning.  Despite apparently getting along famously with antagonists on either of Rangers International shareholding, he was unable to reach a deal, perhaps because he didn’t speak to the Organ Grinder behind the club playing in Rangers colours.

Indeed, neither King, nor anyone else trying to oust, or do a deal with, the current board, knows the ultimate beneficiary behind Blue Pitch Holdings et al.  Is it you?  It’s not me, but I suppose that’s what everyone is saying right now.

That question, is the only show in town.

King wrapped up his comments to The Herald by saying “Over the last two years we have all witnessed the destructive value when individuals, who should be putting the club first, advance personal agendas through the media in an attempt to influence the most important stakeholder in Rangers Football Club – the fans”.

Self-awareness is a rare thing.

Mr King is 100% correct on the destructive influence those who have divided his new favourite club have had.  Without the modestly self-named Blue Knights causing ultimately unproductive havoc, Charles Green’s consortium would surely not have over-paid and under-charged, leading to the situation King believes could lead to administration.  The question now for those on the outside is, do they have the votes, or are they just peeing on the Broxy Bear Burgers?

The “buy now” tab /box is missing today. Don’t know if P67 can add. Other option is to go to yesterday’s article and order from there.

    Happy reading!

  4. Hearing the news of PL’s venturing into the world of Chinese business, I found myself momentarily caught in two minds about how I felt about this venture.

I want my beloved Celtic to advance as far as possible in the upper echelons of world football, to be in among the big boys of the soccer world. But do I want our progress to come at the expense of poor hard pressed workers in some far off land. The answer is a very loud “No”.

We should not allow the vision of the founding fathers of our club to be forgotten for financial gain. We came into existence out of a desire to alleviate the sufferings of the downtrodden in the east end of Glasgow. Surely we should not wish to enter into financial arrangements with any person or company that disregards the rights of human beings.

You can guarantee that if it were a player from Deidco the MSM would have been hounding Dallas for weeks to intervene on his behalf for the good of Scottish football.

The appeal was never going to be successful.

True…Newcastle are the biggest underachieving club in England. No trophy since 1968-69 Uefa Cup, when the huns gave Europe a taste of what was to come by rioting at St. James’s park and laying siege to the city.

They like to call the north east a hotbed of football but I doubt if its big three clubs can muster more than four trophies between them in half a century.

  14. A question I was asked the other day.

Were there any arrests made or charges brought as a result of vandalism at Ajax game?

Don’t know what all the fuss is about our delegation to China.

  20. Sorry, anyone saying we wont miss Broony in Amsterdam is talking guff.In saying that,he brought it on himself. He is my favourite player, our beating heart, love the boy,but if you kick out,no matter how lightly, some refs will see it as violent conduct.UEFA will nearly always agree. We should all know how Broony feels at missing out in these games.A hard lesson learned.

  21. Heard a rumour that PL and John Park were out buying chocolate today.
