Missing structure, control and patience returns

188

Watching how easy it was for Celtic against Livingston you could be forgiven if  it slipped your mind that our league challenge effectively ended in back-to-back draws against the same opponents three months ago.  The regrets of this campaign are many and will last long in the memory.

One of the pleasing aspects of the win was that it was achieved with Celtic never having to hit top gear.  Livi defended well in the first half but a deflected cross and an own goal either side of the break was enough to see Celtic stroll through the second period.  We also got to see what may be Celtic Park’s last ‘Efe moment’, when the former Celtic defender made the kind of error that has littered his career, setting up Ryan Christie for the sixth goal.  Kids, Shane is only the most recent in a long line……

The structure, control and patience the team had on Saturday has been missing for most of the season.  Some credit to John Kennedy for stabilising the ship.  Let’s see what he can do next weekend.

Scottish Cup week, said Philip… watch the Celts don’t step in!

RIP Eddie Rielly NCTim, thoughts and prayers with those you leave behind on their sad loss.

  3. If our financial advantage Has gone , then no chance of Howe arriving or any quality signings arriving either . It has been a real downer of a season for the club and dare I say it a gap closing season for that outfit across the city . We continually hoped for them to go out of business with the debt and annual losses they were posting , but it seems they are neck and neck with us . They are getting income from somewhere , the people with big money will know where it’s coming from it must surely be traceable .

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says ex-midfielder Owen Hargreaves was his worst signing during his time at the club. (Star)

Thanks for confirming what i have always said. He is also the worst and most boring pundit. That is excluding the EBTrs .

DREW, agree with you on that. At least Souness can offer some insight into a game that he is watching, but every time McCoist opens his gub he reaffirms why he has never had a football job sincce leaving Sevco on garden leave. Sometimes he even amazes me with the utter guff he comes out with. Amazing to play at the levels he did and still be unable to see what’s happening on the park. A fud and a charlatan.

  7. What did you do in the war ? we saved our club

“It would’ve cost less, and left the previous owners with nothing, to go into liquidation. But it would also be humiliating for Celtic. So we paid all the bills. Celtic means the same to me as it does to other fans. I identify with the club and wish to be proud of it “

  8. For what its worth I think we will beat the Huns on Sunday.

Does that mean I want JK as manager. No sir.

I lived a long time in England and in my experience, most people lumped the three together with only slight, stereotypical differences.

    Why is that?.

I thought she was simply alluding to the fact that the tories couldn’t give a flying fek about anyone other than themselves and theirs. Wales Scotland NI. are just colonies/regions to be used.

Any thoughts on the fact that Eddie Howe was still manager of Bournemouth at the beginning of August last year and may have to sit tight until a given date (end of EPL for instance) to get a full pay out of money due

    —-

I have no idea what his contract would have said but would it not be unusual to have to wait until the season end to receive money if no longer working with them? To my mind usually managers are paid out the remainder of their contract no questions asked. I could be wrong though.

Either way, whatever the reason is I still think there’s a decent chance that we’ll get him in.

    Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

That’s a trite analysis though if you define ‘themselves and theirs’ as being based on nationality rather than class, which I wouldn’t have expected from Bernadette McAliskey. To be fair she only mentioned it as an aside, it wasn’t really central to the point she was making.

It’s lazy, sloppy thinking though to regard Wales and Scotland as colonies of England in the way that Ireland was.

Cracking poster. What an adventure for the times. My deceased uncle’s young sister made a similar trip, albeit in the 1960s😁. I’ve got a postcard with her dining room seat on the ship marked out. I’m a sado I know.

its lazy sloppy thinking to regard wales and england as anything other than colonies of england, in modern tories thoughts. there put that right for you.

  16. Just read comments from John Hughes on Leo Hjelde .

Sounds as if we have real player on our books.

Let’s hope he is signed up on a long contract before Man City or Bayern come in for him.

  17. Imo, and I have lived on and off in England for the best part of 10 years all told, many English people use the word England (especially the further south you go) when they mean Britain.

  20. I have read here and on other sites that ‘our financial advantage has gone?’ Says who, how do we know this? I’m not saying that as a club we are in rude financial health, is there any football club who is (see Barcelona)? However if we have lost money and burnt through cash this season then Sevco must be be down behind every couch in the place looking for loose change! They have never broke even, were haemorrhaging money long before Covid. Had to find 8.5M to see out last season. While in Europe longer than us they had zero ticketing and hospitality. King wants his money back, they’re wallpapering the inside of the stadium with (worthless) share certificates, they have no loan access. Something has to give surely?
