Momentum ahead of Valencia tie

235

Having come through a tortuous December, Celtic will have the opportunity to regain momentum with six of their next seven games at home.  The only away match in the series a return to McDiarmid Park, where they inflicted a 0-6 defeat on St Johnstone earlier this season.

Sixth placed St Johnstone are the highest-ranking domestic team they face on that run, who Celtic also play at home on 30 January, before facing Valencia at Celtic Park on Valentine’s Day.

Forthcoming games against Airdrie in the Scottish Cup, then St Mirren and Hamilton in the league, will give Brendan Rodgers an opportunity to give Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo some game time.  We have time to prepare for the big game on Valentine’s.

  1. The hands cant hit what the eyes cant see on

Also, presume that all the rumours circulating yesterday were complete nonsense?

  2. Valencia will take care of itself. There are much bigger battles at home between now and then.

Defeat to Valencia would be disappointing, defeats at homew will be catastrophic. There is no room for error now.

  3. Nice comments from Neymar today.I watched Weah in pre season as PSG sent their starlets over to play in some tournament.PSG kids finally lost to ,I think a full Spurs team.Weah was outstanding, along with a few others.A bit like Neymar, great skill, great pace, and great work rate.Hopefully he settles quickly.Hopefully, with the pace we have brought in,we start moving the ball forward more quickly. If we do,I can see Ollie being played through the middle.Big,strong,quick.

Anyway, looking forward to Saturday, and the start of some exciting times.

There is no one more scathing of the establishment,SFA,SPFL,HUNS,REFEREES,than John James. No mealy mouthed words of excuse,or hand wringing.Straight for the jugular.I know it should not, after reading these pages for years, amaze me that many on here dont like his blog, but for me,he nails them every time.More power to him.

For anyone who ever wants to reference the website transfermarkt, here is a pretty compelling reason not to:

I assume all these ‘valuations’ are brought directly from the tried and tested formula of ‘finger in the air’?

Agree although I think his main downfall is his asking of funding for

his website is over the top occasionally and probably cost him a few viewers to his site.

Is the answer to – Name me another player, like Ya Ya Toure, that will be overpriced and over the hill and that we as a club should avoid with a bargepole ?

    Do I get a prize ?

  8. CELTICFOREVER,

I agree on the “Donations”,but he is not the only one. Some bloggers use adverts to pay their way.To do a full time blog takes a lot of time, and effort.

  9. YA YA TOURE,

Unlike Mr Defoe, who is a year older,he will be over the hill, past his best,a waste of money, sack PL,nothing to do with Brendan ,not what we need, shocking recruitment policy.

Have I missed any of the comments we will read on here.

i love a rumour but when i read that on kds i thought how stupid but it was going the rounds at the club last night.

soon went quiet when i mentioned pl secetary.

  11. BSR,

I did indeed hear the rumour. She looks a dead ringer for Bada’s favourite weather presenter, and she likes her driveway heated occasionally.

    Ohhh,missus.

Couldn’t care less for Defore and that lot. He is clearly over the hill.

On its merit Ya Ya hasn’t kicked a ball in 2 years. Beyond the Lubo example always trooped out, what mid-30s player has done it ? – Wright, Dublin, Keane, Lundberg etc etc ???
